the older i get the more i understand why so many middle-aged people have one craft/hobby they are deeply into because crafting time is basically sacred for me now, hahaha. it's basically like meditation to me and keeps me sane

people don't see artists (musicians, writers, crafters, etc) as laborers and that's the entire problem right there people are inclined to see creativity as a hobby or downtime activity, you can't make it actual real work, what rights do you possibly want when you're being a slacker with no ambition

I was at the Americana with a co-worker and he suddenly said "Oh my god, that's Angelina Jolie" and I turned around just to see a white lady in huge sunglasses step into a car with super dark tinted windows. Anyway a lot of other people spotted her that day ahahaha

Not to be unkind, but I am so impatient about the “what’s the point of making my little zines/comics/crafts/art when the world is on fire” sentiments. I get it, but saving the world is not a responsibility shouldered by your art! That’s what being a neighbor, a friend, and hell, a citizen is for!!!
