Great advice on transitioning from academia to industry. I would add that you should also be prepared to discuss why you applied to a specific company. Find details in their platform or targets to discuss. Interview teams see you as a flight liability if you’re just looking for any industry position

Kind of seems like the effects rippling out from this could strain US healthcare to its limits. From more rural hospitals and clinics closing, longer waits at ERs, and private insurances raising rates when hospitals raise prices due to having more uninsured patients. Well done US electorate.

From a journalist friend: Just spreading the word. The CDC is purging data, so people should archive their favorite CDC datasets today, namely ones around race/ethnic diversity, LGBTQ, and reproductive health. Also health data involving climate. The youth risk behavior survey has already gone down.

"Health disparities research" is a field of study where researchers look at how things like race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status can influence health outcomes. Now any gov't website about this says "page not found". This is a dystopia that I did not imagine that we'd be living through.
