Running a Structural Biology and Protein Production group at a Boston biotech. Previously worked in rare disease, but focusing on drug discovery in precision oncology the last few years. Crystallography with a splash of CryoEM and NMR. Opinions are my own.

Does ‘Porter ball’ involve goals this season or is that a feature we only get to in 2026?

If you want to know how Europeans feel listen to Claude Malhuret, He is the leader of the independents in France. This is how they see the US now.
That's the full translation.

Just look on the bright side, maybe they all catch measles and H5N1 at their weird little Texas fascist party.

After Rubio’s display, I thought no one would even come close to having less of a spine for a long time. But here we are, mere days later, with Jeffries really trying his best to compete.

Short-term opportunity found through collaboration weighed against the risks of fighting for a sustainable system. The further down you go from company boards and the C-suite, the more upset you find employees about the situation. Most of us are horrified and working to help where we can.

When academic research slows, and discovery wanes, where do industry leaders expect to get their new targets or techniques from? Seems so ridiculously short-sighted. Can’t have a pipeline without new ideas.

That's where we are at, folks. A former weekend cable news clown with a slew of credible sexual assault allegations and alcohol abuse ending the careers of decorated service members. Congratulations, America.

Stop trying to use rational policy arguments against the bad-faith actions of the current administration. Are you so naive as to think they are motivated by eliminating 'waste' just because that's what they say? This is reallocating wealth, power consolidation, and weakening democracy.

As someone who’s been the hiring manager and been on countless interview teams, this is correct. No one fits the job description perfectly. There will be skills that are required and others with flexibility. If you’re otherwise a good fit, training in missing skills is trivial.

Thanks Liz. I would reach out to contact my senator and ask that she be as obstructive to congress as her Republican colleagues have been for years, but she seems to be on a long weekend and only left instructions for her aides to post vague messages on social media about fighting back.

I assume this is a precursor to a strongly-worded fundraising email or text message as that seems to usually be the extent of your outrage.
