No it's a deliberate psychology propaganda trick.
Discredit by association, if you hate/fear someone greatly then that someone 'endorses' or 'claims association' with someone
It destabilises decision making for those not really engaged to "Can i trust Harris if such an evil person likes her?"

As much as i dislike twitter and later x,
I won't assume reasons for anything,
because intelligent people and active human accounts don't necessarily use Twitter anyway

It was easy for maga to tell groups A that B they are enemies and maga can give your side the biggest win.
Twitter was used to geo identify the groups and target refined the messages.
Group A and B will now realise maga was horse trading same opposing promise to both.
