Sort of in agreement here. More important than the stunts is the party's voices repeating the message (something that Republicans seem to do instinctively).
But it's like "weird" last year -- you know you're on to something when they squeal. And it bugs Trump because he knows it's true.

True. The only presidential election I ever skipped was 2012, when I was living in Tyler. Louie Gohmert's district was sort of the ultimate in "you just don't matter." But I certainly would have showed up for Cruz vs. Beto 6 years later.

In fairness, Braley basically calling Grassley an embarrassing bumpkin was a pretty big gaffe.
But yeah, the media were openly rooting for a Senate flip, and the contrast between Ernst and Tom Harkin made for an easy story.

His nomination can't be stopped, but as he's an almost certain Supreme Court nominee in another 13 months, the Dems have to at least rough him up a bit.
