They need to recognize that Republicans are the problem. When they swear off Republicans forever, we can talk. Until then, let them cry.

Even with these buyers-remorse sad cases, they still aren't coming around to see that Republicans are the problem. They need to do the work: stop with the both-sideism, stop spreading misinformation, wean off right-wing media. I'm not going to be explaining it to them all over again.

Learning about Hamer, I was struck by her courage and persistence. Despite death threats and attacks, she kept working toward equality, making her own successes and sharing them with her community. Fannie Lou Hamer was a genuine American hero.

In 1969, Hamer founded the Freedom Farm Cooperative to redistribute land and power to black Americans so they could provide themselves with stable sources of food and income. FFC was later able to provide housing to many black families.

Fannie Lou Hamer was was a renowned and inspiring orator, criticized by some as ignorant and uneducated because she spoke in the vernacular of her upbringing, with a thick southern accent. Her messages resonated with her audiences and her eloquence shone through her unsophosticated language.

She co-founded the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party and went as a delegate to the 1964 Democratic National Convention, though her party was not seated or recognized by national Democrats. Four years later, the MFDP was seated and four years after that, Hamer herself was a DNC delegate.
