You can tell what a person truly believes because they will still believe it even when it is detrimental to them. If it's true when it helps you it's still true when it hurts you. Which is how you can tell that these people don't believe in anything. Depraved.

Hell of a window, that Overton Window.

Beating the devil out for the sin of empathy. Kids maimed like this misbehave in hundreds of ways.

You can really see how the "move fast and break things" ethos has now infested DC. It's why they are rushing this out years before it's ready, trying to use it for stuff it might never be suitable for, and especially why they want to dump off the labor of getting it working.

"Vigorous" should absolutely be a requirement for running for office. We must elect people who intend to work.

Would be a great time for like Bush II to speak up for these people who helped America when he was president. If he ever cared.

They must have asked Grok to collect the tariffs.

I used to have a good understanding of where the world would be in like 5-10 years. Like you can make plans and have good odds of seeing them come to fruition even if surprises happen along the way. I no longer have any idea of what the future looks like. Complacency has eaten America's brain.

Even when you don't read the NYT the headlines have a way of finding their way to everyone's eyeballs. This is the sanewashing. This is how we made it ok to vote for a descent into madness.

Because their depraved MBA-brains have them believing the party doing the soliciting is advertising that they have a weaker position. They've really convinced themselves of their own invulnerability.

“The law matters except when the president decides he’s a dictator for reasons” was an approach entirely predicated on two normal pro-democracy political parties that would police their ranks & weed out fascists from leadership. That doesn’t exist anymore. It was all norms & duct tape, in the end.

The choice to bandage national wounds by pardoning brazen crooks who have not repented in any way must not be repeated. It does nothing to excise a rot that has been worsening since Nixon.

Why do you keep voting to advance the regimes priorities? Your vow to the Constitution requires you to oppose the overthrow of the rule of law.

Also true of life. Bacteria counts as life. Do viruses? What exactly does the life/not-life boundary look like?

Space is big enough to make it inevitable if it's physically possible. It matters how you have those Fermi Paradox variables resolve though. Is it 1 per galaxy? 10? 100? .1?

How do they not notice that their leader resembles the Anti-Christ? It's like they conjured up their own nightmare, made it real, and unleashed it on the world.

The interplay between the Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn making the inner planets form with like 10% of the mass as normal and the Earth / Theia collision making a moon seems rare. I believe having the right planet at all is the hard part.

Regime is pulling off a trick to increase antisemitism by using antisemitism as justification for atrocities.

He acts like the whole world isn't scrutinizing his every action. He just endlessly repeats his tricks to browbeat the world into submission.

COPS is in it's 37th season. It's extremely American. What's this is is America metastasizing. We failed to excise the cancer.

I always wondered when Antifa started circulating in the media why no one pointed this out. It should have been aggressively corrected to Antifascist constantly. Lost opportunity. Pretty instructive about the media though.

Exactly what you would get when a bunch of people who don't know what they are doing ask Grok to write it for them.

One of the more subtle benefits of empathy is that it allows you to gauge reaction and adjust. This is how we improve our social skills and learn about boundaries without blundering past them. The "empathy is a sin" crowd sure never seems to get better at anything involving understanding people.

I think the needle he's threading is that the regime is being given a pass for this group of prisoners somehow but is being told not to do it again?

This is how it works for billionaires. Their assets are worth less in a crisis but can bounce back if they survive. So "hang tough" is viable strategy for the rich. The regime goes on TV to advocate for economic strategy that is only useful to billionaires.

It's been said that people stop maturing when they first achieve success and it's weird how you can even see that in middle-aged men.

Over and over again the best word I have to describe the new fascists is depraved.

He's purposefully ignoring the market because he wants people to come begging to him. Some business book power move I'm guessing. I think he's sown the wind.

They are depraved so they can't understand duty or loyalty as they can't see personal gain in it. So they don't trust an integrated army because it doesn't make sense to them. An army based on fear and control makes much more sense to them on a visceral level even if it's objectively much worse.

The emperor forbade female space marines to ensure that space marines couldn't form populations independent of regular humanity. Didn't want a legion disappearing and returning as space Mongols. So they were always possible.

In a lot of ways it's better that the culture is so much less insulting these days but I kind of miss an insult that scorches across time like that.

I approved when I thought it was about advancing technology but wherever you scratch the surface there is some supremacist garbage right underneath and you find out what they actually want is to burn the world down.

My guess is they knew that. They're fascists. Directing hostility towards people they don't like is practically the point.
