So, which ones didn't he regret? (He only said "some")

It's funny isn't it. A real case of "Procrustes Bed" in that chart. Solve the problem by cutting money causing more demand for the services that drive the cost.
Why not try and fix the issues that drive homelessness, vulnerable adults and children needing care?
Just a thought...

So, in other words, the master deal maker just gave Putin a "Royal Flush" (cards analogy) by allowing him to have their allies Iran "promise" not to push forward for a Nuclear Weapon in return for allowing him to continue to pummel Ukraine. A "promise" that can be reversal any time. Genius...not

I would take him seriously. His first name is Barry after all...(Sorry to the more sensible Barry population...)

Or price will increase regardless (perhaps to just below tariff ceiling by price gouging) AND long lead times! Worst of both worlds

...the inbound supply chain to the Chinese factories. AND...this is at the same time everyone trying to do the same AND with every day it takes to recover, adding another day to the black hole.
I wish you luck America, because you are going to need it...

Yep, 4 week (minimum) black hole in the supply chain for goods from China (time on the sea). All Chinese factories fine tuned to supply at a rate to maintain that 4 week on-sea buffer. If Tariffs stop and trade restarts tomorrow, you need to recover the 4 weeks on sea, US on shelf and in transit+++

In a stable business environment, oat factories runway 80%+ capacity and resources and incoming supply matched to demand. How do you ramp up production when everyone else is? The Bullwhip effect is vicious on Supply Chains. (Think of car dabbing breaks on a motorway causing mile long tailbacks)

And when supply chains break, it is not as simple as just fix the broken link. They don't so much "break", it is more like every link shatters (as each part has its own tentacles that snake off into its own supply chain that also shatters). The time and cost of repairing? Who knows, not instant!

The real irony is that the cost of recovery of the supply chain usually falls on the final importer / assembler (due to premiums for expediting down the chain), so removing the tariff may actually not impact the cost of goods at all in the short or even medium term...

The thing many don't realise (even if they know there is a problem), is that the supply chain won't mystically repair if the tap is turned back on. The dreaded bullwhip effect is already in full swing...the continuity of supply has already stopped and restarting ain't easy...

So using their formula on US vs. Rest of World, they are trying to solve their problems by putting a 22% tax on themselves (1-(US Exports / US Imports))? Have I got that right? Make it make sense...please...
They are, quite literally, insane...it is quite literally punching themselves in the face

And when both sides feel coerced into it through pressure, threats and manipulation, this is never a solid basis for any kind of agreement.

The only conclusion I can now reach is that the USA has been defeated by Russia. It took 80 years, whilst the West focussed on military strength, Russia took control of the rich and powerful and invaded by stealth. In the end, greed and self interest has killed the American dream...
