if there's one thing I hope we've learned, if we do indeed emerge from this current hellscape
it's that *everything* that is "a norm" and/or "a guardrail" *must become laws*, with clear descriptions and real teeth when violated. It's a helluva lot of stuff and will take awhile, but needs must

The absolute numbers aren't, I think, as important as the difference between anticipated numbers and actual numbers. The parade had bleacher seats for a lot of people, but were mostly empty, and with he Mall, they were ready for 200,000. People are saying maybe a thousand showed up.
