CW: suicide Her name was Kerri Moynihan. She was real woman whose life, and death, were real. Her loss to her loved ones is real. Their grief is real. Her passing's relationship to how she was treated at Blizzard was real. Shame on you, Bobby. May you never have to lose a loved one in that way.

Here's a first look at the rooftop smoking scene with Valencia! After 2 months, we finally have something playable, though it's gonna take another 2 months before it's ready for public haha. Sorry about the glitches🥺 #gamedev #virtualreality #indiegame

Pretty sad to hear about the news coming out of Bioware, especially focused on the Dragon Age team. That series is one of my two favourite (take a guess for other). Good luck to everyone let go or moved around. I can only hope far in the future another game is made in that world. #DragonAge

I just finished reading Dragon Age: Last Flight. I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. It was so awesome reading about the forth blight and the Griffins!

Been working my way through all the media for #DragonAge (some for the first time too! And yes... I even read Hard in Hightown!) on my quest to read it all before I play Veilguard. The last few books I've read (Asunder, The Masked Empired and the in-progress Last Flight) are really great. Onwards!

Working more on the #BattleTech contract Designer I'm developing. I've had 'prop' placement for some time but the terrain mask remained the original one (e.g. so water effects would appear on a bridge placed down by the modder). Now I've fixed that so a prop bridge has no mask. Bridge is modded in

We don't talk talk enough about how boredom is now scarce. Boredom sparks creativity but only when people are open to new experiences & believe that they are in control of what happens to them ...but for the most part, it makes people do whatever they can for amusement including acting sadistically

Just finished reading The Masked Empire Dragon Age novel on my journey to go through all the media (books, comics, games, short stories etc). I really loved the second half of that book. Still some way to go before I can play Veilguard but almost at replaying Inquisition! #DragonAge

Spending some time this week thinking about what I want to get out of 2025. I figure it's a good idea to try to have even the roughest of plans to attempt.

Started back up on my custom BattleTech campaign I'm making to release with the BattleTech Mission Control Designer (custom contract types editor). I'll be 100% releasing this all in 2025.

Happy belated new year everyone!

Went to the park, met lots of squirrels. 10/10

Thanks United Healthcare for once again denying my pain meds. I'm a cancer patient w a bad prognosis and in constant unmanageable pain, but just keep counting beans.

“I’m finally able to play Mario Kart with my kids again!” Meet Stafford, who enjoyed many epic family gaming battles until complication with sepsis resulted in him having his arms and legs amputated. Read on to find out how we helped him game again! www.specialeffect.org.uk/news/staffor...

CHARACTERS - Day Nine: Cassandra This is the last of the (major) characters I wrote during my time on Dragon Age. I could go into others, and considered moving onto Stray Gods... but I feel like fewer would be interested, and I honestly can't keep up the pace. So let's make this the last, for now.

Treeverse.app now shows the conversation thread as you mouse around. Nice way to navigate deep threaded conversations on here. It doesn't have a way to load more than what the initial API call returns, yet. Other than that, I think it's now at parity with the old Twitter version.

My talk "React Query API Design – Lessons Learned" is now available for everyone. Check it out! gitnation.com/contents/rea...

CHARACTERS - DAY ONE: Morrigan Morrigan began, waaaay back, as a bit of Morgan le Fey (hence the Dark Ritual) mixed with Delirium from Sandman. The Delirium elements subsided into more of a weird cadence of speech as my idea of Morrigan solidified - more cynical, wanting to connect but unable to. 🧵

CHARACTERS - DAY TWO: Kieran (Technically this is an addendum to yesterday, but I make the rules here so nyah!) Heading into DAI, I had a bite-sized problem on my hands. I knew Morrigan would feature. I also knew we were importing previous choices. So now I had to contend with: the Old God Baby. 🧵

Huh, my previous video really took on a life of its own and was my most popular post ever. Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled programming. I fixed the bug and this is what the state of my procedural animation is actually like. Still pretty bad, just less funny (but still a bit funny). #procgen

Tanstart Start just entered beta. I'm looking forward to playing with this as a full solution. I absolutely love Tanstack Query (and even Tanstack Forms has been a good experience).

Stoked to announce that TanStack Start is now officially BETA! 🎉 🎊 Please come and try it and help us get it ready for 1.0! tanstack.com/start cc @tanstack.com

Going to watch the Wales game on TV today. See how badly it goes 🏉

I really need to find the energy to get my BattleTech contract/mission creator editor finished. It's so close.

Hey! I'm Richard! You'll usually find me developing software and games, going on about Mass Effect and Dragon Age (along with other games) and generally seeking out fun and cool stuff. I work as a freelancer dev for big and small companies. Worked for Apple, Deutsche Bank and various startups.

I'm looking to connect a bit more with: Software Developers, Game Developers and in general see some great art, media, projects, science and awesome stuff!

I'm happy enough to move over here to be honest but the one thing I'm sad about is I had a great group of people I followed from over so many years. I'm trying to find as many as them as possible over here but it'll be impossible to get them all.

Just wrapped up my Dragon Age 2 re-playthrough. Really enjoyed it again except the reuse of some of the maps gets samey. Already miss my companions Onto reading the DA2 companion stories that I should have done before DA2 - then onto the comics and books that take place between DA2 and Inquisition!

Happy #N7Day!

The Wild Robot is amazing! We loved the books and the film does it justice. So emotional in the right ways! Great action bits too. The art style is gorgeous. Love it!

Finished my last dev contract a couple of weeks ago. Had a great time doing it over 9 months and it's helped reinvigorate my love for software. Looking forward to the next one (whenever that lands. Market is rough still).
