"If you voted for Donald Trump, this is what you were voting for." Watch: youtu.be/ujsQ3bp9-4I

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general. If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

We need Pete Buttigieg as a clear messenger, more than ever.

Yes. They are. Maybe a rapid response team under the age of 75 would be a start. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

Wicker voted to confirm Hegseth. Hey, Senator, eff around and find out.

For some reason, I keep thinking about how the Emperor Tiberius (the emperor who crucified Jesus) renamed the Sea of Galilee "Lake Tiberias" after himself as part of his brutal repression of the Jews. Renaming things is a powerful form of colonization and oppression of subject populations.

Leader Schumer and Leader Jeffries: I know there's a lot going on right now, but when the Pope, from halfway around the world, is more forcefully calling out Trump's horrific anti-migrant actions, that's a pretty clear sign you need to step it up on the messaging.

Truly sad and humiliating to see Donald Trump, the President, just sit there weak and quiet as Elon Musk, an unelected billionaire, acts like the President and talks to the media in the Oval Office. Wild scene.

this is actually a pretty good illustration of the current power situation. it doesn't take any responsibility from Trump to recognize that Musk is 100% driving this train and the White House has approved after the the fact the stuff hes done. Critically Trump's age is coming heavily into play here.

Since JD Vance just converted to Catholicism 5 minutes ago, he might not know this: the Pope authoring a letter where he goes out of his way to correct you, specifically, is considered "bad" in the Catholic tradition

Thou shalt not spend millions on Super Bowl ads about Jesus when you could’ve used it to feed the hungry.

My latest from inside NIH as well as universities that get its funding. I think it is important to say clearly what moves like this will actually do to people.

Bama Senator Howls Like Stuck Pig After She Sees NIH Cuts Impact in State talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/bama-...

Literally one of the most -basic- constitutional law cases, the Youngstown case, involves the Supreme Court telling the President that he could not order his Secretary of Commerce to seize steel mills during a strike when the U.S. was at war. 🙄

The other thing about cutting NIH indirects to 15% is that it specifically hurts medical schools, which is where the new doctors (and nurses and PAs) come from, and we need more new doctors, not fewer.

I’m a child of a faculty member at state land grant universities, graduate of three other ones, married to a faculty member at another one. All public research universities were put in jeopardy by yesterday’s attack on the NIH funding formula for research. Probably your alma mater is one.
