These are all the countries in Africa that would be part of Trump's travel ban. Insane.

This comes from engagement work with teenage girls in a park in York. And you see all those things with two dots by them. Those make up 90%+ of what we currently provide for young people in public space. Whereas the things that girls want - they just aren't there. Let's do better.

This is super interesting -- and a bit depressing -- but I'd also like to see the equivalent survey done on teenage boys! Because I think sometimes there's an assumption that boys are being catered to with things like gym equipment, but actually... maybe they want spaces to hang out and chat, too?

Among Democrats - "Do you support Democrats like Sanders and AOC who call for a more aggressive stance towards Trump, or moderate Democrats who are willing to compromise with Trump issues important to their base?" AOC/Bernie: 70% Moderate Dems: 30% Harvard-Harris / June 12, 2025

to anyone who needs further proof that Zohran is the abundance candidate over Cuomo: Zohran wrote a bill giving the MTA streamlined permitting authority, which would speed up and reduce the costs of subway construction

I love all the handwringing about Zohran’s lack of experience when a 19 year-old called Big Balls has recently been made a permanent federal employee with the title Senior Advisor at the GS-15 pay grade in the General Services Administration.

These are the people trying to use Cuomo to steal New York from us.

do i have any followers who were at harvard during the 2015-2016 school year? if so, message me on signal

I don't think I've ever felt more like burning it all down than I have while witnessing the elite project to turn Zohran Mamdani and Brad Lander into scary, incompetent monsters while turning an actual incompetent monster, Andrew Cuomo, into a merely complicated fellow who just made an oopsie.

The Times saying last year they'd no longer endorse candidates in local elections, then immediately being like "oh but not THAT guy" 10 months later because the candidate wants free buses gives away the whole game. "Objectivity" means you break your own rules to punch left as much as you want.

Russia was kicked out of the G8 in March 2014 exactly BECAUSE it launched its war in Ukraine by invading and forcibly annexing Crimea.

I was a medic at the Santa Ana protests in OC today. I watched police fire tear gas, flash bangs, & rubber bullets into crowds of men, women, & children. Other medics and I were clearly marked with red crosses, and the police were targeting us. One of the most fucked up things I’ve ever seen.

The roommate of Minnesota shooter Vance Boelter, responding to MAGA lies that he’s a Democrat: “He would be offended if people called him a Democrat,” he told CBS News, adding that Boelter “was a Trump supporter, voted for Trump,” and was happy Trump won the 2024 election.

Targets included Democrats, abortion providers and NO KINGS rallies. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/15/u...

Anyone still on Twitter wanna let Mike Lee and Bernie Moreno know? Anyone at the NYT wanna write the story about senators straight up lying to their constituents?

We do not need new roads; we need better transport options. Think of what could be done with £9.2bn, which is to be spent on just 14 miles of road! It could transform bus services and/or cycling and pedestrian infrastructure across Britain. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Aside from needing alternatives to driving, induced demand tells us this scheme will actually make life worse for drivers in time, as well as baking in our car dependency and debilitating other options. We've been trying an everyone drives everywhere policy for decades and it carries on not working.

This is much better than Speaker Jeffries references to a vague violence, but it could be even more specific. Name actual individuals who need to be held to account. It will make the general charges stick and spark an actual news cycle as reporters ask them for comments and replies. Call them out.

We haven’t even heard one thing Cuomo *likes* about the city. Contrast that with Brad Lander and Zohran Mamdani who have made the symbols of New York part of their campaigns, from the Cyclone to the Subway.

John Hoffman and Yvette Hoffman were hit by a combined 17 bullets from the Minnesota assassin, and both survived and are now recovering. Yvette shielded their daughter. www.startribune.com/john-hoffman...

Since becoming President, Trump has imposed the largest tariff hike in modern American history and is continually threatening further escalations That trade war is costing the US billions—and breaking the country's trade flows in important ways🧵 www.apricitas.io/p/how-tariff...

The Tea Party protests in April 2009 had about a third of a million people involved, and the political media treated it like a game changer for the Obama presidency. The No Kings rallies were AT LEAST ten times bigger than the Tea Party protests. Will the press keep pretending Trump is popular?

It is firmly in the “somebody’s making an active decision to downplay this” territory.

I count 49 news headlines on the NYT mobile app home page right now, not including opinion, sports or cooking. None of them are about the massive protests yesterday.

Honestly I still can’t stop laughing 😂😅🤣

Beautiful. Reducing humans to a “what” is the fascist enterprise. Reclaiming ourselves as a “who” is ours. And ours is the better story.

I am wondering why Lisa Leher from the @nytimes.com did not discuss the data that suggests political violence in the US in the current era mostly comes from the right. Seems like a strange fact to ignore. 1/ www.nytimes.com/2025/06/14/u...

If you want cheering up, the replies here are making my day. Some often-cited travesties (Des'ree, Toto, Snap! etc) but also some astonishing lyrics I've never encountered before. I've laughed literally out loud. This isn't 'for a 'thing' by the way. Just wanted some Twitter-circa-2011 fun.

If you protested yesterday, you saw how many people in your community shared your values. Give them someone to vote for. Run for office. runforwhat.net

New York Magazine reports on the menswear happenings inside the US Dept of Defense, including Pete Hegseth’s Chief of Staff, Joe Kasper

“No Kings Day”: A compilation

Hi everyone I was denied entry, detained, and deported from the USA over the last 48 hours because of my reporting on the Columbia student protests I arrived back in Melbourne hours ago and had my phone handed back to me upon landing

Martin: There is no doubt that that has been fomented by the far right in this country and extremism and violent rhetoric that exists in the far reaches of the internet that we have allowed to seep into into this country.. Well, it's bullshit

Look who isn’t afraid to speak out.

Earlier, federal agents shot a protester in the eye. Vincent is an ER nurse and said he came to the protest at the ICE facility in South Portland after a shift. Other protesters called an ambulance for him, but he had to walk several blocks to meet it, due to the munitions still flying.

Klasfeld on Abrego Garcia case: One of the cooperating witnesses is serving a 30-year sentence. What comes out during the hearing is that: he’s getting leniency on his prison sentence, is now in a halfway house, and is also receiving favorable treatment with his immigration situation.

If Hegseth gets shitcanned for this wet fart of a parade instead of his general incompetence, I’ll still take it

“Don’t rank Cuomo” chant broke out at the No Kings march down Fifth Ave.

The fact that people turned out in huge numbers to protest in Minnesota even after a right-wing chud assassinated a Democratic member of the legislature is a good example of why we are going to win.

If this results in Trump finally firing Hegseth then it was worth every penny.

It's kinda crazy to remember that the mass protests today got their start (and name) from a tweet about congestion pricing

This time-lapse video of protesters marching down Broadway in Oakland for No Kings Day gives an idea of how many people turned out today @sfchronicle.com

Remarkable. MSNC: "I want to reiterate this has been 100% peaceful." Seconds later, LA County sheriffs start firing on the crowd. Yet again, "law enforcement" deliberately escalated.

When the cops said they knew the suspect, they 100% meant "yeah it's the guy we moonlight for off-duty for some extra cash"
