In a sense, I still find joy in experimenting with new techniques or learning something new for art (in general) but usually it doesn't last too long. I really wish someone told me that technique and mastery are the easier half of the battle TvT

I didn't know that when I wanted to do art for a living that my concerns would stretch beyond whether I'm becoming a better artist by the year. You have to be your own PR, sales, social media manager, etc. and you have to balance everything on top making sure the art you do is good. It's exhausting.

Contrary to popular belief, once you've had a taste of strangers reacting negatively to you as an artist or your work in any capacity, it's very hard to ignore it. It's always in the back of your mind like mold. And sometimes it makes you hesitant to share again altogether.

"Stop whining, this is just the nature of the job."
It's really something you don't understand unless you've had to tank the mental load of it head on. It looks so easy to just draw and post your art online but every mental add-on to that process drains you inside out.

Oh!! Soulborne games being "super hard" is more of a gatekeeper narrative. Elden Ring can be as easy or hard as you want it to be β€οΈ ER lets you summon in-game allies and other (anon/not) players if you need help and you can work to level up your character to be stronger to get advantage over bosses!

I totally understand that! For me, it's more a feeling of uncertainty since I'm in the dark on whether this actually translates to a crowd of people who are actually here for what I do and hopefully this shines a bit of light! (since I only recently started posting here seriously)

Omg YES!! I love all of those too! I rarely play soulslike games outside of fromsoft but I do love the genre. I ALSO recently made a new character to get to the ER DLC because I was concerned if an NG+ character might make the difficulty of the DLC skewed haha!
