Getting Started

Oh no. This rescue will be full of mishaps and misunderstandings.

They could have worded this better. I thought she was stuck outside... www.bbc.com/news/article...

On my knees, praying.

With this in mind, I want to read more about different experiences. Books i've loved: The People in the Trees - Hanya Yanagihara Afterlives - Abdulrazak Gurnah Girl, Women, Other - Bernadine Evaristo Cloud Cuckoo Land - Anthony Doer Please send the books you think I should read.

I'm a straight, white, British (another topic), cis, man. The eyes I see through don't always reflect the status I have. I know i'm privileged but don't always feel it. How I combat that is trying to elevate the people that didn't grow up with the silver spoon.

I open this app and see thought provoking, interesting views every time. On twitter, i was being conditioned to hate women, hate gay people, hate non white people, hate trans people. A constant stream of misery. I want to be challenged but I want to be confronted by people with humanity.

Made my first post on Bluesky and feeling alright.

I chucked twitter and moved to this place as a spur of the moment decision. Since I arrived, i've read more poetry than I had in the last year. As it turns out, social media doesn't have to be an anger safari. I like it here.
