Pulled out some SAT words for a rather long email. Here's hoping they're doing something more than sorting the mail into piles For/Against.

Seemed to me back when I was an intern that basically all Dems, even the conservative ones, got death threats as a matter of course. The Squad basically expected them a couple times a day, at last check. The GOP congresscritters are just ... cowards.

In CA at least, many Ds depend on hospitals, insurers, and medical adjacent donors for their campaigns. All are against single-payer because it'll cut the fat and well, they make their money on the fat. It's why the Dem infrastructure have cut the heels of healthcare politics beyond "defend PPACA."

Basically a technical permission to reuse the PPACA funds as a baseline for the single-payer system. VT got the waiver but backed down over the political/economic opposition from businesses and some opposition from inside the Dems. California has a similar issue, they keep trying and it keeps dying.

A statewide single-payer does require a waiver from HHS, Vermont tried it and got cold feet because of the size of budget and bullying from insurers. Universal Medicaid eligibility might be the way but a bunch of private insurers are basically subcontractors that own those markets too.

Well, except the predictable (genocidal, violent, tyrannical, abusive) kind of history. Well-behaved old white people produce quite a lot of that.

FWIW I'm *mostly* sure you'll get your passport back. I've been furious at myself that my advice might have prompted you to send it in right as all this was kicking off and I'm so sorry.

Legally they can't make you give up a password. Can force the fingerprint/face. Your phone being present will be recorded by the cell towers, confirming you were there. Power it off entirely unless you're using a burner with no SIM and the antennas turned off, for video/photos only.

Jilted bitch who didn't even get cast for the show is harassing pit crew and burning down the set and the producers are telling the queens they should have planned for this in their act, the bitch with the molotov and hair plugs is clearly in charge, not them, and cameras are rolling ladies.

The WSJ is owned by Murdoch. They are not, in any way, to be trusted to arbitrate truth. I don't care how much they claim to have severed the line between news and editorial; Murdoch is squarely responsible for Trump in a dozen ways and he should be excised from the public.

10/n To sum up: 1. The moral panic was gibberish. Only a tiny proportion of kids have ever been diagnosed with GD, and very few of those got drugs in the UK. 2. Services in the UK were TERRIBLE before the Cass review. Less than 1/10 ELIGIBLE kids were prescribed medications!

Oh, they one-side plenty. Of their coverage of transgender issues, I think less than 20% actually or talk to an actual trans person, and they universally cast them as either a victim of gender-affirming care, or as an "activist." While sanitizing the credentials of bigots pushing a narrative.

Frankly, based. Malicious over-compliance. Fascists are incompetent, so nobody should lend them skill.

You misunderstand the point - they were looking for something, anything to pin on the disabled, and it only took a few minutes for them to find Schedule A to do it. The cruelty is the point, and fascists have a long history of seeking to "prune the unproductive" out of society.

The chamber they sit in should have no bearing on whether they support fascism, or not. I get that they have respect for decorum. Conservatives will use that to perform the most depraved nightmares they can, then demand we eat the regurgitations with a smile. We can, and should, say no.
