Underrated album

Baseball is hard. Of these 1st rounders, Kendall & Stewart are the only two whose careers I can immediately recall. Kendall was a damn good baseball player. I have no memory of Helling’s 4 year stretch that included a 20 win season! Serafini. Well that’s interesting.

A card from Ruth’s playing years is beyond my budget; at least for now. Can anyone recommend a relatively affordable magazine or daily cover from his playing yrs to target? I recently picked up this vintage DiMaggio LIFE magazine as an alternative to one of his cards.

Most expensive card I’ve ever sold. Raw Ohtani jersey-match #/73. I set the final bid to a West Coast friendly time & almost fell out of bed the next morning. 18 have been graded w/PSA - no 10’s yet.

It’s only early May, but Max Fried was the FA pitcher I most wanted the Yankees to sign. His stuff reminds me of Jimmy Key & Mike Mussina. Not overpowering but a true pitcher who overwhelms by keeping hitters off balance. That approach also ages well. If only we had Cole; what a one-two that’d be.

Juan Soto’s command of the strike zone is remarkable. The next 20-something old on this list is Cody Bellinger (29) with 424 BBs. The next player with <10 seasons is Matt Chapman (9) at 471 BBs.

My first eBay purchase in over two months. I usually only buy cards from playing years but this 2019 Dave Winfield SP has been calling me. You had to be there to understand. I also love that hanging a creased Yankees banner was acceptable to announce the most lucrative contract in sports history.
