It's not that big of a deal, you can grab it on the next run, but instead of fighting him here's what you do:
After getting shart in party, give her command in spellbook and just cast it for him to drop it and pick it up with anyone. Fighting him is impossible tbh

I definitely reccomend getting a paladin with that sword, adding a 1d4 fire damage to every smite is really strong in early game

REMEMBER cast command on the cambion as shadowheart to make him drop the weapon and get the best early game sword!
You have to change shadowhearts spellbook for that so prep for the final fight
