That's ≥1.5°C above preindustrial. The trough just after 1955 is slightly above the preindustrial baseline. 2024's warmth was only slightly aided by El Nino, as the latter half remained in the vicinity of +1.5°C during ENSO neutral conditions.

Only 4 days of freezing highs, which is outnumbered by triple digit highs. I'm sure there were more freezing days for most places in the region not on the water, but that's still very few.
