Yvonne McKague Housser was an incredible artist and a trailblazer. She opened the door for the Group of Seven to paint the mining landscapes of the silver mines in Cobalt.
This is my fave - at the National Gallery.

So yes, vaccines were a big investment. But they saved a ton of lives in Ontario alone, and paid for themselves, (and then some), just by virtue of the people they kept out of ICU, never mind other positive health outcomes.

However, once widespread vaccination began, our original model started significantly overestimating ICU admissions, suggesting that vaccines substantially reduced demand for critical care (!!). So we added vaccine doses per capita into our model.
