That will not be a problem! A lot of coffee places sell their beans and we have some damn good coffee places! Those are good dates, there will be a lot of Halloweeny events happening! I’ll start gathering some recs!

It could be my ADHD talking, but I feel that in my soul. If I didn’t have new things to interest me, I think I would wither and rot.

I wish I’d been able to share the things I was into with my parents! I love that you’re willing to learn about new stuff and share interests with Spawn.

Their two previous albums, Take Me Back to Eden and This Place Will Be Your Tomb are where they really got their popularity. They’re full of bangers. I love the new album, but it’s a little different for them.

Their look does not match their sound at all! Spawn has taste! 👏🏻

That must have been Past Self? They like to experiment with different styles lol. It’s a ride! You get a bit of everything. If you started with the newest album, Even in Arcadia, the angst starts with Caramel. That’s the song they wrote about their shitty fans.

Their songs are know for changeups mid song, so give them a bit of time to hit their stride on your first listen, if you’re willing! They’re a mood!

For Spotify folks, this is the best place to start imo

The Offering has a changeup at the 3/4 mark that goes straight into baby making music territory.
They have a song called Do You Like That, and yes. Of course I do. Another one called Sugar… “sugar, I’ve got a taste for you.” 🥵 something for everyone

Chokehold is one of my faaaaves! And Alkaline, god the way Ves growls at the end of Even in Arcadia *phew*. There are so many good songs, but listening to the albums in order is cool bc you can hear the progression in their style and the lyrics kinda progress the band’s lore.

There are so many, but I just listened to this one so it’s fresh in my mind.

Kay, I think you’d like them, tbh! Their songs are sad and horny and full of so much angst and yearning. A perfect soundtrack to some of your fics!
Missing Limbs, Blood Sport, Granite, Dark Signs, High Water… so many good songs. They have a horny song called Vore, I mean, they are perfect, to me😍🥰

So many of their older songs are so full of angst and yearning, they’re just perfect soundtracks for my MC headcanons when I’m gaming lol - it helps that their esthetic gives me such strong Elden Ring/FromSoft vibes

You should give some of their older stuff a listen - it’s so good! This Place Will Become Your Tomb is a no-skip album for me, it’s 10/10. I honestly love all of them, it’s hard to pick a favorite. I also love their eclectic style & their whole vibe.

Yes! He really shines on this album! It’s cool how much his drums are featured in so many of the songs. I love how fresh, but still familiar everything feels.

Is that just for ONE?! It’s not even a set? Damn! For that price I expect it to summon Mothman for me.

Heck yeah for bday tattoos! I’m excited for you! I will probably just keep going until I run out of space. I’ll keep my face, head and nethers free but everywhere else is fair game.

“Now I will retweet you so everyone who agrees with me can pile on and also point out your wrongness!” I won’t stand for you liking the thing I don’t like!!1!

Some bands are super interactive too! I’ve probably tagged a band or two before, I’m sure, if I was talking about how much I was enjoying their music. I’m with you though, I couldn’t imagine getting much more personal than that….

Hahaha well, obviously I fully support the echo chambers that agree with me 😅

I would love someone to do a study on social media and feral fandom behavior. Get on it, people smarter than me!

I think it probably contributed! I know a lot of us spent a lot more time on social media when we couldn’t leave the house. My screen time increased so much! And our algorithms control the content we’re being fed, unless you’re aware of how you can manipulate the algorithm.

Yes! It’s so gross!! And yelling it at concerts or making signs?! These are people with lives! You wouldn’t say that shit in front of people in the room with you or the people who are in their real lives, don’t harass them with it on social media.

There’s a bit of an echo chamber too, where certain types of fans find communities and encourage each other within those communities… you see the behavior becoming normalized. I thought it was just a pop music thing but look how naive I was.

I can see how easily someone could just fall into rabbit holes & not realize how it’s taking over. Esp when you’re depressed or lonely. I find myself getting lost in things when I’m depressed & I’m a pretty social person irl. Even more than I prefer, bc my friends are more extroverted than me 😅

I wondered if it had amped up too?! I think the way social media platforms manipulate the algorithms that control what shows up in people’s feeds has something to do with it. I used a Sleep Token song in a story I posted on IG and since then my feed has been FULL of context focused on the band.

That’s kinda how I am now too! These dudes are anonymous anyway, so there’s nothing to learn, but I don’t need to know every fact about a musician. I just wanna dance and sing and feel better for a while.

God I hope so too. I was oblivious until Instagram decided to poison my algorithm with it after their new album dropped. I miss the good old days of last week when I knew nothing lmao

Maybe we’ve just lived long enough to see enough of our heroes fall. I don’t get too attached to any bands that deeply anymore and I am a music person. But I’ve lived long enough to know that we don’t actually know anything about any of our heroes.

I had noooo idea, I’m almost hesitant to say I like their music bc I’m worried ppl will assume I’m one of the feral ones. I just like to holler along with their music when I’m depressed.

It’s so bad their new album has two songs about boundaries.
Celebs and musicians and other creators you admire and even think you relate to aren’t your friends, people. You don’t actually know them just because you relate to the art they make.
