Messed around with this some more, and 623 brake jdgc isn't too bad doing the motion as 6123+button. But also I noticed that the damage from these scale ala perfect parry in sf6. It's definitely going to be an important part of the close up game at high level, but not as crazy as it seemed at first

If nothing changes in cotw, I think guard cancel flash kick (kain and... jae hoon?) is going to be a big point of frustration for players when the game releases. Need training mode to test but it seems tricky to beat
