Someone speculated to me recently that they are angling to make copyright and AI a tool of national security. Congressional Ra seem willing to go along with just about any damn thing so they could amend the Copyright Act to declare AI outputs subject to copyright

One of my favorite (possibly apocryphal) stories about The Madness of King George is that it was originally going to be called The Madness of George III but they worried that Americans wouldn't go to see it because they hadn't seen The Madness of George I or II.
