This goes for Poo as well! His mirror ability likely stems from how PSI oriented his village seems to be. I headcanon the Starmen are able to mirror/alter their appearances, as it makes it much easier for quick and witnessless abductions. (Such as Youngtown and Stonehenge victims.)

I think it is a separate branch of PSI! Like telekinesis, telepathy, foresight, etc. Shapeshifting PSI is very interesting to me, and I believe everyone is individual in how skilled they are in a certain field. (Ness being more experienced in telekinesis, Paula in telepathy/foresight, etc)
