Know what I blame? That Wilshere goal against Norwich.
We apparently want to replicate it every time we play. And it's an impossible goal to score, basically.
I think Mikel Arteta is a brilliant manager and will win us stuff. But I wish he saw the value of the obvious pass and the obvious shot.

As we so often see. Complacency and a lack of urgency.
This lot are shit -- we'll score.
This lot are shit -- we'll equalise.
This lot are shit -- I don't need to shoot when there's a reverse pass no one else has seen.
Love the lads, but do not like the attitude.

We 100% deserve this. The lads have been taking the piss all game long. Underestimating West Ham and taking liberties. Passing up the obvious pass (looking at you, Martin) for something tricksy. I don't think this defeat can be put down to fatigue.

Odegaard's decision-making and passing hasn't been fantastic.
Would like the lads to, just occasionally, not cut back while attacking and JUST. FUCKING. SHOOT.

Rice slams in a shitpinger from 30 yards.
Γ unleashes a screamer from 30 yards.
Nwaneri curls one in from 30 yards.

There's craven and there's pragmatism. The current United States president isn't interested in what people are doing; he doesn't have the bandwidth to understand anything complicated. All he cares about is what people are saying about him.
So keep the vanilla messaging. And act with bravery.

It's got to the point where when we're attacking and Sterling gets the ball, I'm hoping our midfielders and defenders can get back into position, because he's about to lose possession.

I'd say Tierney for Sterling might be a good shout.

Is there any doubt?!
Seriously, though, Prem: probably not. CL: why not? If we're a cup team for the rest of the season, lean into it! Be annoyingly difficult to beat.

Lads, I've got a great idea...
Titi Henry still looks the business on CBS, doesn't he? And he's not under contract, so the transfer window doesn't come into it. Crafty six-week contract?!
I believe! Who's with me?

It's even worse than you think.
"Three-peat" is a trademarked word belonging to the ex-coach of the LA Lakers.
It's a ridiculous word. And an old grifter is making money off it.

Nketiah, Nelson, Vieira and Smith Rowe shipped out.
Sterling in.
This season has been full of surprises, but it's also been obvious from the start that we were under-equipped to score goals. Looking forward to the tell-all book in 20 years that reveals what exactly went on last summer and why.

10:55pm, press conference, Arteta walks in and sits down with a massive grin on his face, followed by Luke Shaw.
You can never have too many left-backs.

I'm hoping that Saliba, Big Gabi, Odegaard and Saka aren't about to start drawing conclusions about the level of ambition shown by the club. Keeping our powder dry could also be seen as writing off our season.

My current feeling is: I'm enjoying watching the lads and hoping for the best. But thinking that without a striker who is at least _slightly_ deadly, we don't have a chance of winning anything at all. I think Havertz is a good guy and wish him the best, but he ain't it.

The first time I ever played rugby at my grammar school, someone threw me the ball and I looked at the hordes of (tiny, 11-year-old) opponents coming towards me and threw the ball forwards in a panic.
Disappointed in Neto, but can relate to his feeling of utter, mindless discombobulation.

I thought the exact same about the Cunha moment you mentioned in the pod, where he berated his team-mate in the first half for not giving him a perfect pass: nah. No thanks.

If that's genuinely how they are interpreting the rule and how they intend to enforce it, then every single match from now on will be abandoned due to not enough players being on the pitch.
But that's not how they're going to enforce it. Everyone knows.
Why is there such an omerta about PGMOL?

All that you say is true, but there is some hope. It's not inevitable that the techbros will always control us.
I do some writing for the Japanese company NTT and am always encouraged -- proud, even -- to see how they develop new things. It's for humans, for the sake of humans. Google NTT STORY.

At this point, much though I might feel sorry for Radio Raheem and what he has become, I'd prefer it if his teammates just used him for wall passes. Lay the ball off to a colleague who might actually do something.

One thing I've hated about the Arse since Wenger is the complacency when we're up against opponents we don't respect. "These guys are shit, we can take the piss, it doesn't matter."
One of the many reasons I loved Rafa Nadal in tennis was because he never, ever, *ever* underestimated his opponent.

Is it partly a coaching problem? The take a touch, take a touch, shift left, take a touch, shift right, take a touch, pass 3 yards diagonally back thing must be us not allowing turnovers, right? But all it does is allow opponents to regroup. Then a hoofed ball over the top, we panic, goal, bosh.

#arsecastextra Blogs - are Arsenal a _boring_ team?
I remember the Guardiola Barça and Spanish national teams that won everything. They were effective and demanded respect and, even, awe. But they were bloodless and bored me.
Arsenal play Spanish, controlling, carousel football. Do you enjoy it?

I would be happy if Arsenal, as a general policy, could shoot on sight for the first 15 minutes of matches. Just absolutely launch it. Anything could happen - it could hit a defender's arm, the GK might direct it into the path of an Arsenal forward following up, they might even just score!
