It doesn't seem like there are a lot atheists on here. I left the other place a while ago, and I remember there being quite a few influential atheists on that platform. I was hoping to see some more of them here, such as Diety Free, Atheistic One, Peachy Fiend, Angery Atheist, as well as others.

True, I had to walk off quite a few failed athletic experiments as a kid.

During the time of the Biden Admin, Dems in places of authority, whether it be federal, state, local, legislative, or executive, could have pushed for true change.

Not blaming just Biden nor the working class. Those in power, both conservative and liberal, have served primarily their own interests and the interests of the oligarchs and corporate donors.

How are the Democrats going to show the people that they are not controlled opposition?

Ds' could've taken a much stronger stance that showed they were for the people and not corporate profit and greedy capitalistic imperialism. Why should the people vote Dem for the same old status quo?

Dems failed to do this during the Biden Admin. Ds' could've made moves that showed they cared about the working class & were not going to be in the pockets of donors/oligarchs. They could've worked to solidify fundimental rights, like Roe v. Wade & Universal Healthcare, among so many other things.

American Imperialism really has been a scourge on this planet.

I don't know. It seems like many lawmakers are falling in line behind Trump, and many Ds' are doing the same. A better future is going to happen with an awakening of libs swinging further left and not pandering to the right or center.

Dude, I'm sorry that is happening to your family. Is there a Go Fund Me or something set up?

People often pit Jesus against the Old Testiment as if somehow that discredits the horrors of the OT, but what they ignore or don't know is that Jesus put his stamp of approval on the OT. All the letters of the Bible are "red letters."

That's such a vide. It's easy to let that play on repeat.

... I can tell that it doesn't have to be an either this or that / both and ordeal, and that is encouraging.

I've noticed that there is more noise about it on social media than out in the wild, too. Maybe people need to be shown that there are other options out there and that it doesn't have to be this duopoly? Prior to this past elect cycle, I chose to unplug and ignore almost everything, but now...

I can understand that. I used to be very black pilled, and it took me a while to shake it off.

... you could do something like that and make a local bluesky account for your area?? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Just an idea. I'm glad I found them, and I am going to my first protest tomorrow. I admit, I am both nervous and excited. 2/2

There is a group where I am at (Shasta County) in CA. that set up a Bluesky account @occupyshasta.bsky.social. I was in a similar situation (not being able to connect with like-minded people but wanting to do something). I found out about them through doing a local search on bluesky. Maybe... 1/2

The crackdowns and labels of "terrorist" are coming either way. Standing up and voicing out will help to inspire others to do the same and hopefully awaken people to want to dismantle the system that made this possible.

I unintentionally listened to part of a segment of Fox News yesterday, and they are still pushing the whole "mandate" lie, along with a bunch of other blatant falsehoods.

Thank you for the reply! I haven't tried using lists or feeds yet, but I probably will. I've expanded out and have been following other people in other groups and circles, and I have learned quite a bit and changed viewpoints as well. My experience has deffently changed, which has been refreshing.

Agree. Recent events have been a wake-up call for me, and hopefully, more and more people are realizing this, too.

There are too many eggs in the one basket that is America. Ukraine πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ should have already been given NATO membership, and America should not abandon them now either.

Europe has been relying too heavily on the US for a while. No one nation should ever have as much power/influence as America has had. I'm not saying that we shouldn't be there for our allies, but diffusing the scale/scope of this might ought to have taken place a while ago as a preemptive messure.
