Neurodivergent and queer author writing alien romance.
There will be spice. There will be action. There will be cursing.

For an author, sometimes I suck at typing.

Oh no, I may be approaching 40 but I’m pretty sure I had Seasonal Affective Disorder in my twenties. I just have a longstanding habit of just suffering through it. I also suspect I get migraines but everything overlaps so much it’s pretty much a soup of symptoms.

Glad to hear it. I keep thinking I should shift to monster romance (I could probably write entire series involving Minotaurs and tentacle monsters) but also I’m invested in the series I’m currently writing so….

Sounds promising. I keep looking for books that’ll be on par with Carnal Games. In that one, the one person was literally plotting to kill her enemy even though she had been expressly forbidden from going after him (they were in peace talks and she wasn’t having it).

I mean I’m at the stage of “Huh… I was basically in hibernation this winter. Maybe I should see someone about that…”

Well that took a fraction of a second to decide…

Love a true enemies to lovers. Like they want to maim each other before they finally get together.

I feel like I’ve known plenty of pagans who only follow one deity. Pagan just really means not Christian so you do you.

You made me smile. 😊
Can relate to the mental cave. Keep telling myself winter is almost over so I should be pulling out of this funk now.

Yeah I’ve written several novellas with decent world building. Sometimes it means narrowing it down to a very specific environment but it’s doable.
Hell, I created some pretty complex world building in Shifting Shadows. Took me a while to figure out how not to create plot holes in the logic…

I’m not violent though. I swear.

I took a comparative physiology class in uni. Loved that class.
It’s also why I practically foam at the mouth when writers say a werewolf’s knees bend backwards. Makes me want to reach through the page and shake them until they’re clear that’s an ankle, not a knee…

Well I’ve at least watched the first season so… yeah. I’m not the greatest at shying away from WTF content.

True dat. But I’ve also seen things on the internet that can never be unseen… 😳

Yes, yes I did. Lol.
I’m also resisting the urge to share other things I know about certain species of octopus… because I can absolutely take this down a “why did I just read that” direction.

You and me both. Which is why I end up hyperfixating on one to the detriment of the others…

I am not opposed to this. Gotta love a muscle mommy.

Update: Okay, now this makes more sense. I had the author wrong (it’s a multiauthor series). The writing is EXACTLY what I would expect from them (other than the poor editing), and wow, without the stellar world building, I couldn’t bring myself to finish the book even though it was novella length…

I do remember that being mentioned, that she used it for her subscription. Which is probably why she allows genAI on Ream even though nobody on the platform wants it there. Readers can’t even filter it out because if any author declares they use AI, it only shows internally. It’s private.

Sometimes I’ll just start reading short stories because that’s where my brain’s at. Which is probably why Goodreads often says I read 300+ books every year.

I have audio processing issues as well. Sometimes talking doesn’t quite translate as words to me. Also, it’s harder for me to pay attention to audio. I tend to drift off.
