And: Republicans wanted to add a bunch of red tape and bureaucracy to the Earned Income Tax Credit. It’s a backdoor way to raise taxes on working people by making it a lot harder for them to file their taxes correctly. We knocked it out.

I've come to greatly appreciate how well suited central Portland is for bike share / scootershare. On recent visits I've gotten around that way exclusively (good rain jacket essential)

I spoke to employers who were seeking to help employees abducted by ICE - including one boss seeking freedom for a U.S. citizen staffer who was arrested in the space between their uber and the front door of their workplace. Their boss had their U.S. passport in hand, pleading for their release.

It's not hard to imagine rural hospitals closing down in places like Eastern Kentucky, and McConnell and other Republicans blaming the ensuing suffering on welfare queens taking all the money away.

I remember complaining to Portland's @pbotinfo.bsky.social ~15 years ago about this invisible edge when they expanded the sidewalk for bikes on the Morrison Bridge. Very dangerous. Thankfully it looks like they've since fixed it with...a white line? 🤷
