This makes me so angry; a cyclist near Ghent, Belgium was killed in an accident by men who 1) was drunk, 2) was driving without a licence, 3) having had previous convictions for similar offences, and 4) who fled the scene of the accident, was RELEASED ONE DAY after the accident. Hallucinant.

Indeed; in the ongoing war between Europe / the EU with Russia (and Belarus, Iran, and North Korea, with PRC as an accessory) the frontline is in Ukraine. We should start to act like that is the case.

Also very scary is the potential of FPV drones used against civil aviation and shipping.

It is just a matter of time until Kim will get hit by the Ukrainian Security services; and the blow will be devastating

If I understand, you have no problem with speeding, as you do it all the time. So you are OK with it if I come barreling down the road where your children/family/friends/etc are living/biking/playing way over the speed limit and I get either a ticket, or run over one or your loved ones

Inderdaad, maar je moet ergens beginnen. Kleine, maar concrete stappen.

Volt staat achter een Europees leger. Zie punt 9 in de link. voltnederland.org/9-punten-act... Andere punten zijn ook goed.

Without an effective protection against drones, these tanks will be sitting ducks on the battlefield.

Let's hope that the Conservation Programme is actually real; otherwise this is simply animal abuse in cooperation with an authoritarian government.

So it is not only about only replacing carbon-based electricity generation; it is multiplying the electricity generation. This needs investments in non-carbon infrastructure, including sun, solar, hydro, nuclear, geothermal, storage, clever distribution networks, synthetic fuels, H2, etc.

Excellent article; thank you. In addition; it should be the aim to increase electricity production many times, to heat in cold climates, to cool in hot ones, to travel, to grow crops under lights, to desalinate sea water, to produce goods, to power AI, etc etc.

Indeed; that as well 😊

First I became a vegetarian, then stopped eating fish, and now minimising dairy products. Becoming a full vegan is the only logical moral position.

Is there a blessing for PM Fico; that he may stay in Moscow.

Fully agree; too many, superfluous, street signs make for ugly streets. Beautiful streets are pleasant to be in.

Not a very practical flag for the European project, but it is a beauty.

Yes! It is clear that we are no longer under the USA nuclear umbrella to protect against Russia's atomic bomb threats. Therefore, sad to say, Europe should start working on obtaining the technology and materials to make a European bomb including the decision making process on how to deploy.

Avid opera lovers here; unfortunately, after the Berlin Opera, now also the Royal opera that we have to boycott.

Greenpeace facilitates fossil fuels by resisting nuclear energy.
comment in response to post
Agree; and consider nuclear where possible and economical. The demand for (electric) energy will only grow and will make our lives especially for the poorer people on the world better. Poverty is often a poverty of energy. Increasing energy availability and consumption is fighting poverty

To so what exactly? Assist the Russians in their next assault on Urkaine?

Good stuff; Sometimes royals have their uses.
comment in response to post
Absolutely; even if a USA system is technologically better than an EU alternative, we should still go with the EU system.; We just have to make sure, the EU system is better than the Russian one.

If the audience would have been serious about their opposition to the current administration they should have boycotted the concert at the Kennedy center altogether. The booing is a sign of weakness.

The degree of desire of people to have children is likely in part genetically determined. If true, people with a lower desire will propagate less than people with a higher desire. In time the increasing share of the population with a higher desire will make birthrates go up again. 🤔 Maybe?

The money that keeps the cartels humming and killing and subverting Mexico's society comes mainly from the USA. The USA people are funding the cartels and this is thus mostly a USA responsibility
