Texas just adopted its Starter Homes law SB 15, which caps minimum lot sizes at 3,000 square feet for new >5 acre subdivisions. The first law of its kind in the country! Congrats @texansforhousing.bsky.social!

SB15 (starter homes) is scheduled for today. Last night, the House passed on 2nd reading: * SB1567, which prevents college towns from discriminating against students living with roommates * SB2835, which adds single stair buildings to the state's reference building code SB673 (ADUs) still waiting.

SB15 (starter homes) was denied a vote because it lost a point-of-order. All hope isn't lost! It just got re-voted out of committee without the offending portion. Now we need Texans to call Speaker Burrows and ask him to designate it a major state bill, so that it can get an up-or-down vote!
