Unless the end of that sentence is "... He would have wanted to be a train" I don't buy it.
That man spent his entire life trying to achieve two things: immortality tough technology based cultural hegemony and cooler trains.

God, I think "Who knows what I'd do if some dipshit offered me $44 billion" is the kind of self-reflection we all need.

They have been described as "Fast Forward Mandatory Games" with the dungeon design.
And yeah. Shining Force III being hit by the triple whammy of being in Saturn purgatory, three parts, and released directly against FFT kinda limits its cultural impact outside of "This looks charming as hell".

I also think I really have to do a Phantasy Star playthrough project. Knowing how we have similar backgrounds and tastes makes me really confront my Sega Blindspot as no Phantasy Star or Shining would appear on my list.
(No Shining is understandable as Camelot games can have a real bounce factor)

Also this has made me pick up Artifact Adventure immediately. Not being able to optimize a run in a choice heavy game is something that frees me from my brain diseases so much.

Also picking my personal favorite Soul Blazer (Even if it was Illusion of Gaia I have the childhood nostalgia for).
((And robotrek was the only Quintet game I actually beat as a kid))

Law Vyse is definitely the more interesting character but I don't think he is as different from Chaos Vyse as folks think.
History just looks on you differently when aligning yourself to power works out versus when it does not.

Instead I would say that it really does highlight the intense level of alienation and personal sacrifice that comes along to being committed to your ideals entails.
It is very purposeful that the Chaos Route gives you the chance to fold when things start getting bad!
