More research needs to be be done into unsuccessful applications, moved rolls and EHE from schools with no excuses approaches. I've seen first hand the messaging during the early meeting around a school application, the dissuasion. I've seen moves away that are made to secure support.

Mapped nearly 1000 Alternative Provisions across the UK so far as part of a project. Thousands more to add I'm sure. Pop the web address of any you know below please and I'll add them on! Share please!

Nice to capture a bit of winter beauty this morning

Nigel Farage claiming to believe fully in free speech - I guess he wouldn't be suing anyone for defamation then if they accused him of something he hadn't done then?

Nigel Farage saying that he believes in free speech totally but with limits is a typical right wing device. He believes in free speech he agrees with, that's the limit.

What will be the next conspiracy? Electricity is a myth?

Can tell it's Friday. Today I found myself leaning slightly to the side to see someone who was a bit off camera on Teams, like I could somehow see around the corner of their frame 🤣🤣

Do wonder what edutwitter is making of the sky high suspensions report today. After trying to convince us they weren't increasing, now the increase will be presented as not a problem. It is a problem - it's a sign that support is needed. You can't just dismiss it as "worsening behaviour".

"who here at this protest isnt affected by the thing you are protesting?" Not exactly a great survey there. www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/...

I've played this so many times to my kids that my Spotify algorithm is irretrievably corrupted. open.spotify.com/track/31ywa6...

Went to my granddad's funeral today, experienced an overwhelming sense of grief not felt before. Memories came flooding back. Made me think of those that stuck for me may have been small moments for him, but hugely significant in my mind. We never know which interactions make the biggest difference.

Just to let all the other Dads know, my daughter said I was the strongest Dad in the whole world today. Sorry about that but I thought you all should know.

Deactivated twitter and going all in here! Link me to some good accounts to follow in education plz!

This is my favourite picture in the world right now. She got the kit and my number perfect.

Happy birthday Evie!

Everyday in my work I use the narrative approach. Can't recommend it enough. #ujed #edusky

Checked into the other place and it's all "what's all this transport, when I was a wee lad we crawled 20 miles to school through broken glass" Closed tab. #uked #edusky

Been watching Monk on Netflix which is trashy in many ways, but also beautiful....and easy watching. I don't normally opt for easy watching with my attention span...😂

Has anyone got a breakdown of the areas/topics of GCSE maths on here? Much appreciated! #uked #edusky

There is much to useful theory to use from research on cognitive science in learning, but I feel the gap missed in recent years is not paying enough attention to the readiness and capacity to learn of the the recipient. We don't work with "econs" and differing, complimentary strategies have value.

This would make my life a lot easier. The amount of consultations that come back with no positive response is increasing all the time. #edusky #uked

I will follow anyone who likes / shares this from #uked #edusky community! I follow if you follow me too!

How much engagement/activity is there on #edusky? Like this if you are here and see this!

Good news but long overdue. Replacing educational titles with business ones is a culture signal about why you exist. Putting them back is a sign of a positive new direction.

The myth of parental choice on schools renders Ofsted judgements of limited use anyway. The truth is, you don't get much choice. You live where you can afford, with those prices being influenced by the surrounding schools. There's also no guarantee you'll get in to a specific school.

The Ofsted news is brilliant but it's one of those situations where people have been saying there is a problem for years but it takes something incredibly tragic for anyone to act. There should be an inquiry into Ofsted's impact on staff and consistency of judgement. #edusky #uked

Planned obsolescence has been replaced by subscriptions for everything. Just keep spending. Never have, always need. That way you have to keep working forever. www.theverge.com/2024/8/6/242...

Currently reading this by a close friend from university. It's fantastic. If you want a run down of what power has been taken from you over the last 500 years, it's here. www.amazon.co.uk/Taking-Back-...

If this was said following up with..."so what can we do to address the disadvantage that doesn't cause them to be repeatedly punished' we would be heading in the right direction. So close but so far.

Seem to going through a patch of bad luck at the moment with various things....hoping for better!

My festival trolley adaptions using a grommet kit, some camo canvas, plumbing pipes and connectors.

A really good way to spot this type of account running is someone who posts content that is very controversial and doubles down on it then peppers these posts with palate cleansers of cute animals or children.
