I feel like an arc about Elma starting in a similar place to Lao being jaded with humanity and then warming up to Lin and Cross throughout the journey, until she ends up in opposition to him for Chapter 11 could've been a neat direction to take because rn it feels like there's not much depth to her

It’s kinda old but I did a video about a moveset pitch for Noah where you switch between Swordfighter and Zephyr, and Mio appears as an Echo. That’s still probably how I’d like to see the two handled, imo it demonstrates how important they are to each other and how strong they are individually.

No Straight Roads is a sort of a rhythm action game that predates Hi-Fi Rush, it's a little rougher around the edges but I love the world, it's my favorite here. Going Under is a fantastic & funny roguelite, Code Bunny is a great action platformer, and Unbeatable isn't out yet but both demos are 🔥🔥🔥

Oh damn lmao that probably would’ve been one of the next things I’d done, you’ve spared someone else this fate for what that’s worth

I remember the Normal Quest in the original that had a route for if you fight Telethia, what Affinity Mission requires it? That's nuts

I don't hate it, but idk, it feels a smidge phoned in. Some of the cast feels like they're acting kinda out of character, and a few segments feel way cheaper than even like, Future Connected, but I don't think it's an active detractor from the experience.

Are we talking Marvel Comics’ Falcon? Sam Wilson’s def my preferred character and I’d be willing to say he’s faster than Shayera, but Thanagarians keep pace with some crazy ass corners of the DC universe. I don’t know if he’d be able to put a dent in her.

lmao I just checked and he's the goddamn Ghost Rider, that's so badass

the one where you have to tell a dying Orphean that he has to choose between saving himself and saving his species is gutwrenching for me, I think Xenoblade X's sidequests are the best in the series just because they've got the most Twilight Zone "wouldn't it be fucked up if that happened" energy

Malos is Lego Luke Skywalker and something about that feels fitting

he wins the most improved category but when the rest of the cast is at least a 6/10 going from a -5/10 to a 5/10 doesn't mean much

Misclicked when I meant to think on it a little longer (look up a guide) and the relief I felt when I didn’t accidentally send this dude to hell was palpable

There's a few sidequests that kinda play on that but they're fairly limited and kinda force your character to act like a dumbass. I feel like Alex from Alien Nation could've been a fun long-term main story Rival to the player but idk I don't write games

people say X has the worst story but I feel like it's more accurate to say it has the worst writing because concepts like implicit xenophobia in BLADE and having a child soldier on your lineup feel like they'd get way more focus in any other Xenoblade game (I still love it and the cast tho)

between that and the solid red cases these feel very edutainment system and I feel like something like this mockup would've made better use of the space if they feel it's absolutely critical to have a big ass banner

I saw the photo before I read the caption, and my first thought was how much she looks like my cat. Then the words got through, and my heart just broke. A shared sorrow is a sorrow halved, and I hope you know you've got people in your corner. I'm so sorry for your loss.

the temptation to fire up my Wii U to show off my dorky ass old Cross because I haven’t gotten the chance to play DE is driving me insane

I think it'd be neat to have some kind of art piece of a couple Xenoblade community member's Cross designs together, could be neat to see the contrasts idk

honestly these franchises aren't the first I'd pair for a crossover at all but Shadow and Batman especially exist in this perfect harmony of genuine and ridiculous that I just don't think could match elsewhere, as long as the chemistry between these two has time to shine we're in for a gotdamn treat

I remember my first night in Japan I had traveled with my friends for fourteen hours to get there, hadn't slept in like 36, and when we finally dropped off our bags and stumbled onto the street to find food one of these was right there with a heavenly glow. top 5 meal of all time to me

the sooner this is available on an online storefront the sooner my wallet will be $20-$50 lighter (I've never bought a print online I have no concept of how much it'd cost)

It's a great game in its own right, but I'd hesitate to say it's a good introduction to the series. I'd absolutely get it, and if you find yourself enjoying the characters or world design, I'd definitely recommend the other games! But they're a completely different structure and aesthetic overall.

I feel like 1's combat is the weakest in the series overall, but the exploration makes it so worth it imho. Glad you're enjoying it! Riki's one of my faves too.

companies can't maintain the insane rate of innovation we've had for 40 years but shareholders still need to be convinced their assets are going to grow over time even when there's no reason to so they just shit out false innovation to convince shareholders they still have game changers

I tried to give everyone a rival/teammate that would leave room for good interactions and Dunban is a PERFECT rival for Baiken but there’s just too many Xenoblade 1 reps that warrant precedent unfortunately
