Wild how much India tends to dominate England in Cricket today (especially from a monetary and ‘power in world cricket’ pov), when you learn how much the concept of the Indians learning to play Cricket was seen by the Brits as a sign of their ‘success’.

I’m so tired of hearing Rubio & other rightwingers now claiming that if you’re on a green card you’re a ‘guest’ in this country. BS. You’re a lawful permanent resident. The clue is in the name. If someone is a permanent resident in your home, are they the same as the guests who come and go? Come on.

Incredible how in a matter of days the country appears to have shifted towards ‘green card holders don’t really deserve due process’. And before you come at me with “you don’t need to worry if you haven’t broken the law”, you should really take a look at the law - uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?r...

Important to remember moving forward that Schumer arguably made the lives of Republicans much easier. #SchumerHasToGo

lol I just discovered that Google’s Gemini won’t tell you who won the 2020 election. To be fair, it didn’t tell me who won the 1800 election either. Either way, this erosion of trust in the concept of elections by a company we all assume to be an arbiter of facts of sorts is extremely dystopian.

This is the best thing I’ve seen this weekend www.opmreply.com

A v cozy Sunday morning with Stella.

If we’re being serious, England should pick someone who (1) is a sure starter in both formats, (2) has leadership potential, and (3) isn’t overloaded with red-ball commitments. That likely rules out Root and possibly even Duckett.

I absolutely love how Macron pushed back. It was firm, without being aggressive. And I really feel like more world leaders should challenge him publicly like this.

Rohit Sharma getting back to form is a treat to watch. Man, watching cricket on a Sunday morning brings back such nostalgic childhood job. And when your favorite captain of all time is back to form, even better!!

‘Move fast, break things, claim victory before anyone notices’

Feels like this stuff should get more national attention? 🫠

I sometimes think about how I grew up idolizing the US and its presidency, primarily because of my dad, who often used stories from the US to communicate morality and other life lessons.

Helpful read to better understand the implications of the recent NIH directive slashing indirect rates to 15%.

This is bad. Indirect costs are essential for universities to ensure equipment and facilities are up to date and compliant. This change will lead to fewer grant applications in the long run, which is exactly what they want.

Is air travel safe in the US right now? 😨

Our elderly cat, Carly, passed away today. My therapist asked me to name one thing I’d miss most about her, and my first thought was that of her chirps of surprise when she realizes we’re around when she’s just woken up. RIP Big Carl. You were both a sweetheart, and force to reckon.

I see photos like this often. While I do think the US should have universal healthcare, is this data actually true? For instance, India has a mix of public (largely subsidized) and private healthcare. But only 37% of the population has access, which is important context.

This might have been Rohit’s last game .. I have been such a fan for so long that this last year of white ball cricket has been tough to watch on his behalf. I hope when the dust settles, he’s able to look back on a wonderful career.

Frustrating day four of the test match for India, but this is going to be a cracker of a final day! On a related note, I began following a bunch of cricket subreddits recently and my god the vitriol directed at players is insane. So many assumptions made about internal team conversations.

After nearly three decades, a Minnesota summer camp for kids with HIV/AIDS is closing and up for sale... because retroviral drugs are so effective that there aren't enough campers. Science works, y'all. www.startribune.com/closure-of-n...

The funny part here is that I have family in the US that supported the Trump campaign saying they’ll be “good for Indian visas”
