I think maybe if we suffered less, we’d produce more. And I think maybe it’s time we start funding the artists we like directly. Don’t go out and watch horrible Disney remakes. Don’t feed or use the AI slop machines.
Feed an artist you like. Like our stuff. Repost it. Find it if you can.

On this note, stop making artists’ lives harder. I know a lot of us can be snobby and annoying. Maybe we’re bleeding hearts. Many of us are deeply flawed and some of us abuse power and fame.
But art is inherently a dangerous and unsteady career. Yet the stuff we make is consumed ravenously.

I remember the VHS tapes that my dad’s friend has given him. How I’d ask him again and again to pop them in the player.
Sagan made me want to be a scientist. He showed me how to love natural laws and human beauty alike. Why have so few of my generation grown up watching his work?

It cannot be understated how great an impact #CarlSagan had on me. There’s something about his lovingly crafted documentaries that captured my young ADHD mind the way few other shows could.
It was a love letter to the human race and a plea for us to become wiser.
Yet we continue to ignore his words.

Sometimes it feels like us trans and nb folks are alone in this battle for our basic human rights. It helps a lot to know I’m not the only one who is refusing to look the other way when she spreads such hate.

I think a lot of ppl might be ignoring the full extent of harm she’s already caused to the trans community in favor of participating in a fandom they love. She literally got a UK Supreme Court bill excluding trans women from the definition of women passed

Yeah that’s the read I got too.
Given that she’s literally said she feels any purchasing of her product is an endorsement of her views, she’s definitely the type to be that contrarian.

Right. Her contract with WB is very specific and generous to Rowling. It specifies that she basically gets a cut for EVERY HP product produced.
Since the controversies picked up, WB has been trying to buy the rights from her so they can make more money (toxic for their brand). Idk how that’s going.

Just a reminder folks, DON’T watch this. My heart goes out to these poor kids who will now be associated with this project. It’s not their fault.
But please this process will finance more of Rowling’s hate campaign against trans ppl. It needs to flop for us to have any semblance of safety.
