As a decades-long dnd player, they really capture the strangeness of elves living in human societies and what that really means. I think most players tend to play them on the same scale as humans. I think frieren really gets what such a difference in life span means better than Tolkien

So are the fans of this particular season gonna be called Cloudward Hoes? Cuz I have an outfit that would fit the theme.
I’d also buy any merch that labels me as a Cloudward Hoe

I’d love to pre-order with signing and doodling but this site only allows for orders in America. Any option for signed pre-orders for international fans who want physical copies?

Our decent would be your moderates. There was an entire slate of progressives who ran for the senate and I voted for knowing they wouldn’t win and they didn’t. Two moderates did really well and are incoming senators which was the best we could hope for. Now the one decent senator won’t be alone

The vice president is the daughter of the previous president who’s awaiting trial at the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity. She’s awful. She’s being impeached for some dubious financial discrepancies in the department of education when she ran it.

Basically, it’s a mess but we still look at America and think “well at least we’re not them”

So the president and Vice are fighting, splitting the joining of dynasties from when they ran together, because the president allowed the international criminal court to arrest the vice’s father for crimes against humanity. The president’s cousin who is speaker of the house is also impeaching Vice

Well our president and Vice are both the children of former presidents, one a dictator who had to be overthrown in the 80s and the other a strongman who had thousands murdered without due process in a drug war that achieved nothing (other than the murder which some people consider an achievement)

We had elections in May but they’re mid-terms. So half the senate, all of Congress and all local officials were up but not the president, vice president and the other half of the senate.

I’m from the Philippines but also a British citizen through my mom and ethnically Spanish through my dad. I grew up with American English because of US colonization of the Philippines but also know British terms through my mom and studying uni in the Uk. I mix things up a lot because of it

My book is on its way from the states. It’s not available in my country yet so I had to special order since I wanted to have physical rather than digital because of how much I’ve shared your first book with other people

I literally just watched it and like a minute in was like “oh this is a prequel to 3 Robots”. Whenever I recommend your books I bring it up since everyone loves that short

I don’t understand the concerted effort against Makabayan when they aren’t going to win. I voted for them but one thing consistent about Filipinos is that the general population will always go with the worst possible options and then complain about corruption.

Assassinating my way through the Osaka/kyoto area right before taking a lovely vacation in the Osaka/kyoto area mostly climbing stairs and mountains. Also fed and petted some deer.

The clown makeup was so good. The white clown face really made the red lips and dark eyeliner pop so you read every word on those lips and felt every emotion through her eyes. Not just beautiful but technically brilliant since she was serving face with every move

I think it depends on what kind of “talking shit” - if they’re saying it was better *before* the ACA, then they’re obviously wrong. If they’re saying the ACA should have been a first step and not a final step in improvement - say toward universal healthcare - they have a point

I haven’t watched any of the live action remakes because I already loved the originals and they still exist. However if I did watch these films, I wouldn’t watch this one because of Gal Gadot.

Charging tuition is illegal in Finland so everyone in the country is invested in a great education system since all their kids go together regardless of wealth and the whole country has the same curriculum. Racial integration isn’t American education’s problem. Class segregation is.

Right? If you’d told me when I was an actual teen that teen vogue would have the highest standards of journalism I would not have believed you. Now it was the first publication I looked for on Bluesky

They’ve already used these works to train. A class action lawsuit would be great. Not just the creators though but the publishers since they have the money for the legal teams and actually lose more money than the creatives.

This is kinda the case in Finland. They have private schools that can cater to things like religious association but they’re still required to teach the national curriculum. They can just do some extras for religious instruction. No schools are allowed to charge tuition or make a profit though
