Better dead than tankie. Everything to Ukraine. Democracy should be armed. Chrystia Freeland stan. Stop the Uyghur genocide. To our southern neighbors: do not choose to become orcs. Inside every Canadian is a wendigo waiting to get out.

All of the good guys in those pictures are behaving non-violently, just as the protesters in LA are. Continued non-violence is key to building this into a mass movement. That doesn't mean go home or cower in the face of state violence.

One day I would love to be an expert in a field that causes those that refuse to listen to me to breathe their own piss.

The time for shooting has not arrived. It is far riskier for Trump to forcefully suppress a non-violent movement. This will only swell the movement's numbers, and this terrifies him. The russians and their assets in the US want either violence or inaction. Give them neither.

This is kind of the same reason I argue Joe Rogan is a male to male trans man receiving extensive gender affirming care.

Tell you what, if Americans fill their cities with an enduring protest movement that causes Trump to have to beg russia to send Rosgvardiya to suppress it, we can say that Belarus proves your point.

The Ukrainians were peaceful at Maidan until Berkut began the violence. In fact it was Berkut violence against peaceful students that turned a small protest into a mass movement.
There is power in non-violence in the face of oppression.

It's a single burning car and they've shown it from more angles than a destroyed Bradley in the grey zone.
The protests are peaceful. Trump has to make them look like riots to justify what he's planning.

A hockey stick can be used as a handle for a protest sign and a wrist shot from one can send a small metal object where it needs to go.

To be clear, non violent protest is good. You can non violently protest in front of a soldier.

Blocking Gestapo vehicles isn't rioting. If there's rioting, I haven't seen it. I've seen one burning car filmed from more angles than a destroyed Bradley in the gray zone, but that's it.

Peaceful protests and the tyrannical response to them are currently quite literally the top news story in the United States.

He QT'd me last year to call me an entitled child because I guess there's a distinction between airplane baggage being "lost" and merely "delayed by days", and he has strong feelings about that.

Things like the Constitution, "freedom", etc. are just fascist symbols of Christian nationalism to the MAGgot. They don't have meanings beyond that in their tiny brains. Might as well be red white and blue glittered swastikas to them.

You would need to make a case for why it would be better they be shot in the street.

Yeah, I started off thinking he was just confused about the meanings of words. I hadn't read his other replies so I didn't realize we were dealing with a full-on tankie. This reply clarified things.

ICE is more afraid of peaceful but angry protesters than they are of violent ones. They know how to handle violence. I'm not saying that a vanguard will never be necessary, but at this time violence is not strategically sound. It would alienate the masses that still need to be mobilized.

I'm wondering if maybe the problem is a misunderstanding of what an order of magnitude means. It means 10x. Multiple would mean at least 100x. Official Chinese death tally for TSM is 250-ish. The more likely number is 1000+.
comment in response to

To be “orders of magnitude worse” than the Tiananmen Square massacre they would have to carpet bomb LA.

Is “pedo monger” already a job description, or is that new? I feel like they’re going to need to construct a new circle of hell.

Don’t use today’s tragic violence to whitewash the mass slaughter with automatic rifles of Chinese pro-democracy activists, are you insane?

Incomprehensibly stupid.

Didn't see him for a couple years afterward, but I had to come in during the day to do some forklifting around the attached brewery, and he came out to thank me for the giftcard and the note. His stool's in the rafters now with a plaque "reserved for [name]".

I'd very rarely see my guy because he was there at open for just a couple pints, and I work nights. But one year the girls were signing a card for his birthday, so I wrote "happy birthday, if there's a God in heaven it will be your last" and bought him a gift card for a couple days of his tab.

I had one of them too until he passed. He always liked me too, because I'd fire back twice as horrible as he was to me. He was a piece of shit and he's roasting if there's a hell, but I miss him anyway.

What he actually wants is for people to be so afraid of what he might do that they just sit home and let him continue to boil the frog. That way he can consolidate fascist control without risking something like martial law. Don't advocate for compliance in advance.

Obviously I mostly hope they rip each other to shreds. But the prospect of Musk ousting Trump and Vance (Thiel) taking power concerns me. That said, I’m reminded of people being worried Prigozhin would succeed in his march on moscow.
