It's tough to refer to someone as a criminal if you've given them no due process to determine whether they're a criminal. Like if you get arrested and get a trial and are convicted of 34 felony counts. That's due process. You can call that guy a criminal.

Look at this. This image combines data from JWST and Hubble showing a region of the sky <1/5 the size of the full moon. The bright things with diffraction spikes are stars in the Milky Way. Chickens aren’t resources. They aren’t breast meat with beaks. They aren’t data points on a feed conversion ratio. They are someone - not something. herbivore.club/blog/...

Your immune system isn't a Tamagotchi that dies if you don't play with it. "Immunity debt" is a marketing term to make you blame yourself instead of bad policy. Getting sick constantly isn't normal — it’s a public health failure.

Ticks are thriving—not despite collapse, but because of it. When ecosystems break, parasitic species like ticks surge. Few tick predators. More mice/deer. No checks. Collapse isn’t symmetrical—it rewards the few that can feed off the ruin. apple.news/A5bV18xcRSFi...

If you’re team “deport kids with cancer”, you’ve picked the wrong fucking side.

Nothing encapsulates the genius of CITY SLICKERS and the complexities of becoming a man like the “Best Day/Worst Day” scene. And Bruno Kirby’s delivery always hits the hardest for me.

Chicken flesh is bland — a blank canvas. That makes it easier to replicate. But it also says something damning: if consumers are using animal flesh as a base for other flavours, what exactly are we still killing chickens for? open.substack.com/pu...

I'm old enough to remember when pro-life GOPers would accuse working class women of having babies just to get government money. Anyone remember that, or am I nuts?

Koomey is part of a broader class of academic solutionists who believe climate change is the problem—and that their models contain the solution. But the real world isn’t a lab. Climate collapse is only one facet of a full-spectrum unraveling: Loss of biodiversity, toxic chemicals, microplastics….

We’re hurtling through the sixth mass extinction. Climate targets are evaporating. Governments are playing dress-up with sustainability pledges. But the conversation rarely lands where it needs to: the food bowl of your companion animal. open.substack.com/pu...

Female rabbits produce more wool. That makes them more profitable. So most male Angora rabbits are killed as soon as they’re born - discarded like trash because they’re not profitable enough to be kept alive. Sound familiar? medium.com/@herbivor...

Everyone’s gonna be wide awake at his funeral. If only because they’ll play Kool & The Gang’s “Celebration” at full volume.

You have been watching the greatest economic disaster strategy from an American President in history.

Pretending there’s nothing wrong with the status quo is no longer an option. Embracing plant-based diets isn’t a fringe trend or a lifestyle quirk. It’s an ethical imperative - grounded in evidence, rooted in justice, and desperately overdue. open.substack.com/pu...

My sister got me a gratitude journal a few years back and while I didn’t stick with it long, I noticed that it did help me think more positively during the day. That said, she just gave me this one and I feel it’s a better fit for these times.
