Sat down and wrote a bit about the books I've read in 2024. Didn't _love_ all of them, but if you do read The Deluge, please please please, let me know and let's hang! darribas.org/anotes/artic...

On this, we crunched the numbers on what the Green Belt is made up of, based on our own (urban) form and function classification (urbangrammarai.xyz/story/). Results (+ code) over at: urbangrammarai.xyz/green_belts_... The gist is there are different "shades of green", some of them not very green.

I'm going to try using BlueSky more reliably for a while. Here are a few thoughts that are guiding my engagement here, and hopefully learning from our collective experience over at Twitter. chrisholdgraf.com/blog/2024/bl...

The GIS Research UK (GISRUK) 2025 Call for Abstracts is live! This year's theme is **Process in Geographic Information Science,** re-thinking the link between the patterns we see and what we represent on our computer screens. See you in Bristol April 23-25! gisruk.org/gisruk-2025

And I guess that makes my entrance into the world of blue sky thinking... Mixed views (pluralistic.net/2024/11/02/u...) but the vibes are so close to the good days of the bird that I'll give it a go. Come for the cities, computers, and data, stay for the occasional sci-fi and jazz!

The Geospatial Commission published today the report (there's a blog post too) of the project we've been collaborating on for several months. To add a bit of a personal view, I wrote a summary and some thoughts here also: darribas.org/anotes/artic...
