VHDL is like ADA programming language. It is a very strongly typed language, and requires explicit signal definitions. The hardest concept is the concurrency of operations, the “code” is expressing hardware gates, not processor instructions. Also there are expressions which are non-synthesizable.

Those are useless IMO. Like the code style and comments, the block diagrams and SM diagrams need to convey the abstract architecture at an Engineer level

I asked ChatGPT to code an ECC for 32-bit data in VHDL and it was almost right. I did have to ask for the encode and the correct as separate functions.
AI can make a task simpler, but it still can not do it for you.
