Most of them were at the time. Supporting dictators was a mainstream idea during the Cold war, and it didn't exactly disappear afterwards.

They aren't even encouraging resistance, they're just criticizing ICE.

I'm pretty sure he made up the threats against ICE family members.

Unless your corrupt city government colludes with the red light camera company to mess with the timing in order to issue more tickets and collect more fines.

Fuck LAPD

Yep. The law doesn't matter anymore. The social contract is broken. Maybe one day we'll restore it.

Local police and ICE go to the same Klan meetings.

Last time Christians were persecuted was when Diocletian was emperor of Rome. I don't think John was around then.

They're not assisting with abduction of immigrants, they're just getting ready to beat up protesters.
But I agree with you. "No assistance" should mean NO assistance. No protecting ICE thugs from citizens. No responding to calls for help from ICE.

Escalating on purpose. Classic LAPD.

Posts like this will get you a lecture about how you're opposed to compromise.

Trafficking is what ICE does.

If it's early enough it could be a miscarriage before you even knew you were pregnant.
Best collect the evidence and deliver it to the nearest police station, just to be on the safe side.

The real reason was because he told the truth about the Iraq War.

They read it as much as they read their Bible - not much.

The owners of both those papers sucked up to Trump and this is how he treats.

I heard it's because they didn't have an open bar.

His opposition to Trump's budget bill is the amount of national debt it adds. He's not opposed to the Medicare cuts.

It bothers me how many people don't know enough history to get this joke.

Who is saying otherwise?
There is a choice between two parties, and there are also choices between candidates within parties.

I also don't worship (or capitalize) "the framers" because I'm not a Republican.

I'm not attacking the need for compromise.
I'm attacking politicians who compromise before negotiations start because of influence peddling and campaign contributions.

There will be people saying it can't happen here while it's happening here.

It's not cynical it's how Washington works. Anyone saying otherwise is in on the corruption.

Not just 10 million jobs, 10 million jobs with health insurance as a benefit.

Plus self-employed people.

I think he knows his constituents are so out of touch they think all jobs provide health insurance. He might even believe it himself.

Or require employers to provide it? Even give them incentives to do so?

Yes, they work for the other side. That's why we condemn politicians who are in their pocket like Lieberman was.

I'm not disparaging progress. I'm just pointing out who some of the people slowing down, or reversing, that progress are.

Which reminds me I made a huge omission:
Many of FDR's New Deal programs excluded black Americans because that was a comprise he had to make with centrists.
comment in response to
post
You're using examples of when centrists prevented things from being as good as they could have been as a reason why centrism is GOOD?
Nobody is saying never to vote with centrists when necessary.
That doesn't mean we can't criticize centrists or support their primary opponents.
comment in response to

Yep. Just middlemen siphoning off profit like parasites.

Or even get some of your staff to read it and give you a summary.
comment in response to

Centrism is a core belief of American greatness?!?!!?
Centrism got us the 3/5ths compromise.
Centrism got us the Fugitive Slave Act.
Centrism got us Jim Crow.
Centrism kept us in Vietnam.
Centrism got us the Patriot Act.
Centrism got us into Iraq.
None of those things are great. At all.

Nobody is complaining about the process. Contesting primaries is part of the process! Criticizing bad politicians is part of the process!
