They're not being replaced by just any white men, but specifically ones who will be loyal to Trump instead of the country and Constitution.

Worth a follow, he's a cool dude.

They aren't charging him for what he said, but for what he did afterwards: approach the podium where the city council members were sitting. He did it on purpose because if he'd just made a speech the press would have ignored it.

Is he talking about the spray tan he uses?

And according to Kluwe, a council member contacted him later and said in the past when people have done that the police removed them but didn't charge them with anything.

He's not incompetent, he's dishonest

He approached the podium. He got arrested on purpose. He explains all the details on his BlueSky account: @chriswarcraft.bsky.social

Vikings forced Kluwe out because they didn't like him speaking up for gay rights.

Always important to have a backup plan.

Reminder that Reagan loved dictators as long as they weren't Communists. Reagan primed Republicans for this.

Yep. The racism is important but this wasn't just about racism.

I wish I could play guitar 1/16th as well as John.

I ask them if they've ever questioned the nature of their own reality.

I love using their own slogans against them. "When the looting starts the shooting starts" also applies here.

My only beef with this piece is this line: "...an anger against health insurers that was of surprising breadth and intensity" There was nothing surprising about it.

That seems like using taxpayer money for political campaign ads but I'm not a lawyer.

I don't think he's gullible, I think he's using racist dig whistles to describe DEI and knows he's doing it.

The only people who called it a hoax were Russian agents. There were a lot of them.
comment in response to post
Yeah but it would cut into gun manufacturers' profits.

And not for the first time! Remember the Contras?

Trump probably didn't trust him to obey illegal orders or be loyal to Trump instead of the country. Also racism.

My mom was a nurse so I had the hookup on these.
comment in response to post
It's not just racism. I'm pretty sure Trump wants top brass who will obey illegal orders, officers loyal to him instead of the country. But also racism.
comment in response to post
Yes.

Trump needs brass who will obey illegal orders.

Trump is nowhere close to a billionaire. He's not exactly a successful businessman.
comment in response to post
Is this when he was talking specifically about the Nestle exec who said water shouldn't be considered a human right?
comment in response to post
Only Melania knows.
comment in response to post
Pretty sure he wants to put in place officers who will follow illegal orders.
comment in response to post
Actually they are. Like calling Elon Musk a piece of shit is the First Amendment.

I'm starting to think the reason I'm not rich and powerful is I don't do *enough* drugs, and not the opposite as I had assumed.
comment in response to post
It's not just racism. Trump needs senior officers who will obey illegal orders. And also racism.

Republicans in the Senate will rubber-stamp as usual.

1940s US was segregated and they locked Americans of Japanese descent in internment camps, so maybe not the first choice.

This is similar to the premise of the first episode of "Max Headroom".

"The Rebel" by Albert Camus. I'm still struggling through it. I had to do a bunch of Wikipedia searches just to get his references.
