JD Vance just broke apart the College Football Playoff National Championship trophy on live television.

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

One thing from this article that should set off some alarms is that there are companies that think *the government* will go after them for sponsoring pride events. Interesting

1/ I never took DHS's scary-sounding notice that I had 7 days to leave the country too seriously, because it was obviously some kind of mistake. But what about the people the emails were actually aimed at? Let's talk a bit about immigration "parole" and what Trump is doing here

They keep getting better.

I am a professor at Columbia University. All of the student NIH training grants have been canceled and now there are reports that ALL funding will be frozen. Why are Universities not banding together and speaking out publicly and forcibly about governmental attacks on biomedical research?

Just in case those of us fighting for democracy in court didn't need another challenge, Big Law turning collaborators is here and growing. My firm and others continue to fight. We will never back down. We will never bend a knee. We will never obey.

Ron DeSantis funneled $10M from a Medicaid settlement into his wife's nonprofit, which promptly used it to fight a weed ballot initiative he opposed. Now he's raging at lawmakers demanding answers. It reeks of corruption, and subpoenas are likely. Another petty tyrant caught red-handed. 1/2

Dear constantly pessimistic people, Fuck you. You're not helping anyone. You never have, you never will.

Sorry, what?

This was officially confirmed yesterday in our meeting. Both the offices that handled press and public relations have been dissolved entirely, and all public announcements will be done on Musk's site from now on.

This is the shit that happens in North Korea.

SCOOP: The Social Security Administration (SSA) will be shifting its public communication exclusively to X, sources tell WIRED. This comes as agency plans to cut its regional office workforce by roughly 90 percent.

This really sums up the Trump administration.

Looks like Trump's next move to distract from the tariff chaos is war with Iran

Kirkland & Ellis, Allen Overy Shearman Sterling, Simpson Thatcher, and Latham & Watkins should be viewed as administration shills now. It would be a mistake to engage them in any matter in which your interests and positions are not congruent with this administration’s.

Judge ain't playing.

By my count, Trump has now extorted over a billion dollars from cowering Big Law firms. That's a lot of billable hours defending cops and ICE agents accused of brutality.

So we can’t guarantee our own citizens health care but we can pay everyone in Greenland $10,000/year? How is this “America First”, exactly? www.nytimes.com/2025/04/10/u...

yeah man, please make my 85 year old great aunt prove her citizenship to vote in rural georgia, this definitely isn’t reminiscent of anything in the american past

Here's a real "national emergency": College kids won't, and often can't, read a book from cover to cover. The rise of what one prof calls "functional illiteracy" in the iPhone Age is happening right when our imploding democracy needs critical thinkers My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/stud...

6 people are dead, including 3 children, in a helicopter crash and that guy from The Real World, Sean Duffy, posts about his Cabinet meeting *coughcoughcirclejerk* with Donald Trump. Vile man.

Well bravo to all those folks who voted for Mike Johnson to represent them. Hope they’re happy.

This is terrible. appalshop.org

Do reporters realize that every single lawyer at Paul Weiss, Skadden, Milbank, etc has their email address on the firm website? Feel free to start reaching out to these folks for comment on this, and whether they intend to stay at that firm.

This is why you never capitulate. This would be the end of Columbia university. It would be a testing ground for the direct fascist takeover of private universities by a dictator. www.wsj.com/us-news/educ...

OMFG: "Rather, Rubio wrote Khalil could be expelled for his beliefs."

Things are so bad at the Krome immigration detention center in South Florida that people have to take turns sleeping because they are packed so tightly in their cells that some have to stand up so others can lie down.

Trump has basically turned the entire marker into a memecoin scam.
