Love kids, dogs, and data. I'm not crazy about MAGA or Apartheid. I'm not sure what I would do if my dog joined MAGA.

fyi...Trump today told ICE to not do raids on farms, hotels, or restaurants because it was hurting his people.

We've all seen what Israel is capable of and manufacturing consent is not going to be that easy.
At this point it's just Butchering Animal 1 versus butchering Animal 2.

I am not a Zionist and I am fully disgusted with Israel. However, you animals stone women to death. I think you will find that support for you is rather thin on the ground.

Every Republican is playing to an audience of one and that one is a psychotic toddler.

If the American people are being punished for things that we have done then wouldn't Trump be languishing and some prison in El Salvador.
Either there is no God or there is a very disinterested one.

I am completely opposed to the United States fighting Israel's war. This is yet another action designed by Netanyahu to keep himself out of prison. Our Navy should leave.

In some very real ways WW3 has already started.

This is New Jersey...think Bastille Day
comment in response to

I like to think that Democrats would be involved if we could. Perhaps we should channel Bastille Day on 7/14.
Perhaps it's time for Republicans to actually have something to complain about instead of the constant incessant whining about nothing.

Last time stocks crashed so did bonds. Cash is crazy due to impending inflation. I am like a deer in headlights.

The market isn't taking Trump's latest bullshit seriously and neither should we.

I think there are many many child psychologists who are more capable of answering that question than I am. And if my child asked to transition that would be my first stop.

I am absolutely on board. The day someone mentions a tax strike, I'm in.

Geez, the fact but you needed to go back to the 1980s in East Germany kind of says it all.
No one is pushing our kids to get HRT.
comment in response to
post
I don't actually think that it's a one-size-fits-all age. I think it depends on when the child is entering puberty. For some, particularly girls, that can begin at 11 years old.

Or, just throwing it out there...
Maybe we don't need to keep paying money into a corrupt federal government.
I live in New Jersey and there's plenty of corruption but nothing like this. I don't even know Murphy's birthday, thank God.

So does this mean that the tax code doesn't matter because nobody actually has to pay taxes? I'm feelin' it.
I think I'm more comfortable paying taxes to my state and letting the federal government be funded by the billionaires who own them.

I'm liberal and do not feel that way at all. However, my kids tell me that I use the word liberal in an antiquated way and what I actually am is an anarchist. I literally have no idea what they're talking about... most of the time
comment in response to

The general consensus is that if a child had puberty blockers then it is fine for them to be on their gendered team.
If they did not, then it seems to become a question of how long they have been on HRT.

There is an issue. There are very few trends children and you're essentially saying that they are being left out of all sports.

I think it's a mistake to believe that any of this MAGA crap about LBGTQ+ rights is anything but a dog whistle for bigoted people.
Trans, Latino, Black, Women, immigrants, scientists, universities, lawyers.....
It is all the same. Don't get in to any of it.

1. There are way better candidates for President than Gavin
2. He is doing really well taking on Trump and I'm impressed.
Both things can be true.

I have so many problems with Gavin Newsom that I don't really know where to start. But, we are at War, and Gavin seems to be on our side, so I'll take it.

My dad used to say the United States is a big country and there's plenty of room for all of the crackpots.
The problem is that now WE ARE THE CRACKPOTS! The entire country agrees that there is an existential threat but disagree vehemently on the details.

Property damage is typically an inconvenience while shooting bullets someone is a battery.
Personally I think that some property damage is acceptable.

I take exception to that.
I have never seen a country fall apart so quickly. We are completely unprepared for fascists.

I don't believe anyone saying that that provoking violence is the plan. The ICE agents are cowards and cowards do not want to be bashed in the head.
comment in response to

Trump does so much crazy and anti-democratic crap that it seems impossible to come up with a coherent protest message.
We need that. We need to make specific demands that can be met. Until that happens our protests seem pretty fruitless.

qq...Are any of those brave men and women going to California to beat the crap out of protesters?
It seems to me that Americans shouldn't be paying for government that is stripping our civil rights.

I think that the reason for this is more complex. Just going through articles it is clear that propaganda has gone bat shit crazy.
It is really tough to separate the good guys from the bad guys when you are living in a hellscape.
comment in response to

The sheer amount of propaganda is really quite overwhelming.

There seems to be a pretty strong propaganda effort against CNN right now. I would view this information and all CNN hit pieces through that lens.

WaPo threw away 150 year of being a flag bearer of democracy, and lost hundreds of thousands of subscribers as an added bonus.
So maybe they should look within.

A second civil war is on the horizon and I am very concerned that the actual American Patriots are wholly unprepared.
I think that deep down we are all hoping that the system will magically help retain our democracy.

ICE is the American version of the Gestapo. The majority are not good kind people just doing a job. Rather, you and they are apologists for extrajudicial policing.
