I hear ya. Thing is.. I decided a few years ago that the phone was the problem, not the alerts. So I turned off ALL alerts (including calls and texts). It changed the way I interact with my phone (since it has a cover screen). Interactions are purpose-based, not reactionary-based.

See my comment. The state system doesn't use the same system as the phones so sometimes missing person alerts get labeled as "extreme" by the phone by mistake. Turning off Amber Alerts will not 100% solve it. It will limit it though.

That happened to me once. I checked into it because I had previously turned off Amber Alerts. I discovered the categories for the phone alert system are grossly misaligned with the state one, causing these alerts to sometimes be labeled as "extreme" by your phone.
