I have joined the ranks of folks across the PBI modeling globe that have been bitten by the problem of - as of the Feb 2025 update - a " Measures" table in an import or composite model report cannot be opened in #PowerBI Desktop.

Dear πŸ“Š ##dataViz crowd, help needed. What am I missing?

Happy Twin Peaks Day to those who celebrate

Outstanding video from a creator I am subscribed to for many years now. (Or at least ever since I got my first dishwasher). Highly recommended. Also: today I learned I might be part of 3% of people who actually prefer the Subscription feed on Youtube. youtu.be/QEJpZjg8GuA

New project: I recreated Moses Harris’ prismatic and compound color wheels from The Natural System of Colours published in the eighteenth century and expanded them to dark versions. Explore: www.c82.net/natural-colors How they were made: www.c82.net/blog/?id=97

πŸ“Š #dataviz #AI New @datavizsociety.bsky.social article just dropped: What Does AI Understand About a Graph? (coauthor: Claude Hiaku) A sort of Turing Test applied to the problem of graph comprehension, but a bit more like a cultural anthropologist meeting a new species. bit.ly/4hHOUeO

A classic!

Heartbreaking, but amazing work.

TLDR: if you're making monochrome charts, you need to actively design them that way. You can't just assume that a colour chart will automatically work when printed in black and white. πŸ“Š #DataViz #RStats

Re #Dataviz Portfolios, early career folks are mostly concerned with making and populating one, but what do non-early-career folks struggle with re: portfolios? Once you have one, what's next? Maintaining and updating? Updating aesthetics? Remaking it to go from personal to business?

Got invited to do a talk and I am never keen on 'just' doing a portfolio kind of presentation. So to my female/feminist colleagues in #dataviz: What would you want to learn/hear from me when it comes to my projects, design-process, ideas and/or vision on data illustration? DM is also okay :-)
