Ive read the article but can't see the point that explains why Merz would be the most powerful European leader. He will have a very weak coalition, in a country in recession, whose best manufacturing days are behind them, and who are not a nuclear power. Where is his power?

Looking forward to the Trump one. Which PPF series was it where someone said they would rather be ruled by The Sopranos than by The West Wing? Someone has used the same phrase on the Laura K show.
