X is dead. Bluesky is the new Twitter.

Everyday we watch another business, media or political leader bend a knee. Here is my promise: Democracy Docket will remain fiercely independent and unapologetically pro-democracy. It will never back down. It will never obey. Subscribe now for free. www.democracydocket.com/me-subscribe...

Trump is still running all his businesses while selling random junk. He has a publicly traded company, and he can easily be bribed. He once again will be in violation of the Constitution day 1. Corporate media should do their damn jobs and focus on it, instead of sanewashing him and his nominees.

1/ With more users joining Bluesky, we know how important it is to identify which accounts are real. Users deserve confidence that the accounts they interact with are authentic. Sharing some details about our impersonation policy 🧵

She also wrote: “I have no respect for any man that belittles, lies, cheats, sleeps around and uses women for his own power and ego. You are that man (and have been for years) and as your mother, it pains me and embarrasses me to say that, but it is the sad, sad truth.”

You don't need to be a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon to see why Bluesky is the place to be. But welcome scientists, thank you for joining us! 👋

Here is a nice mushroom

Wonder how Republicans are going to spin this statement from Pete Hegseth’s OWN MOTHER. www.nytimes.com/2024/11/29/u...

Just insane that the left treated the tech industry with increasing hostility just because they undermined organized labor, flouted the regulatory state, and bragged that they were going to get rid of everybody's jobs for a decade straight.

The smallest margin in half a century is not a landslide, honey.

took a couple of weeks… but i’ve seen my first trolls and abusive dickheads on 🦋. took me a few years to work it out at the #badplace but now i block on abuse, workout hesitation. always happy to have spirited disagreements, but life’s too short to entertain f’wits.

Democracy for its own sake is how we have a stable polity where we resolve our differences short of a gun.

Incredibly telling that the only reply going "nu-uh" at that post is some weirdo racist troll with a Trump profile picture :'D Why are those losers always so deeply uncreative?

INDUSTRI-HELL

This has been the Democratic party's primary strategy my whole life: lean center and lose, Republicans trash the place so badly voters have no choice, Democrats take power again, pass modest reforms while praising bipartisanship, lean center and lose again, Republicans trash the place so badly...

Even the NYT spelling bee can't find it

Someone just posted a photo of the Mar-a-Lago Thanksgiving dinner and honestly, if someone served that to me on a plane in economy I'd fucking kick off.

This held up.

Last time Georgia needed multiple OTs to beat Tech the world got the Kick Six like 10 minutes later so if something goes super sideways tomorrow we’re taking credit for it

The other day, in conversation with a recent Rhode Island transplant, I had occasion to share one of my favorite pieces of local literary trivia: in Tom Wolfe's novel, "The Bonfire of the Vanities" (1987), he uses Providence to convey how shitty a particular part of the Bronx is. The passage:

Democrats are busy concluding that this worked for Labour rather than considering that what worked for Labour was being so incompetent that they gave the Tories 13 years to run the country into the ground until people finally had enough.

No more collecting necessary. You're done

So refreshing. Social media is Social again

I am such a believer in this. Down-ballot is the way. It’s also how we build a sustainable future of good leaders and infrastructure to elect and support them, as well as the movements they represent. We don’t just need strong candidates. We need strong organizers, managers, CoS, grassroots, etc.

When the mask mandate was lifted from Mass General Brigham in May '23, hospital transmission of resp virus went up. When the mandate was re-instituted in Jan '24, infection rates went down. www.news-medical.net/news/2024052...

RFK, Jr. is the last person who should stand on any soap box and moralize.

Well played. And frighteningly accurate.

This is your daily reminder that this really did happen.

Hey if you guys are really, really, really good—like if you don’t rape anyone, steal classified documents, obstruct the FBI, or attempt a coup—maybe Santa will bring you one of these for Christmas

This will always be true.

It appears Syrian Rebels have quickly taken the historic center of Aleppo—a massive blow to Assad and Putin. Now we must ask: which side is Tulsi Gabbard—who made a secret trip in 2017 to meet with Assad—on?

"A federal judge tossed out a lawsuit from the right-wing Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) seeking to gain unfettered access to Wisconsin’s voter registration rolls — an effort that voting rights advocates feared could result in unlawful voter purges." www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

gosh I wonder who’s telling the truth here

I just love blocking. Love love love. Someone just screamed at me in my mentions for blocking them and it was "Well, since I can read this, I wasn't, but you make such a compelling argument for it so..."

Northern VA!! 2 bonded kitties looking for a home!

happy kissinger death day to all who celebrate!

i thought too many people on bsky were missing the joke but the amount of vitriol this is getting on threads is insane. i genuinely dont understand how you can read my post and think it’s a real thing that happened. i feel crazy. critical thinking is in the toilet

I’ve been stuck in what’s basically a retirement community for the last 10 days, so I nearly threw myself onto the table full of nerds in this restaurant when they broke out the “Which animated Batman is best?”

“Well, breakfast IS the most important meal of the day,” I say to myself as I go back for a second slice of pumpkin pie

Oh no why what happened did he do something

I firmly maintain that hockey, despite its reputation, is the most cosmopolitan sport. Name one other place in America where every single person in the stadium knows the words to the Canadian national anthem.
