(Shortened) from Brandi Brandes: Commercial U.S. plane crashes 2020-2024: 0. One month into new admin: 2 crashes, 77 fatalities This admin, while dismantling FAA: IT’S BIDEN’s FAULT MAGA: YUP How do these guys still have so many people unquestionably believing whatever bullshit they serve?

From the end of this morning’s WP article on Trump’s economic plans everybody’s mad about. 1) Nobody — not even powerful rich CEOs — contradict Trump to his face because they’re afraid of being yelled at. 2) Their strategy is hoping they can survive this until he leaves.

Clear thinking on the hard way forward.

Trump may not read many books, but he’s clearly read 1984. However, he may have taken from it a different lesson than most fans.

"It is a sad day when our government would fire some good employee and say it was based on performance when they know good and well that's a lie," Judge Alsup said in his ruling.

Columbia School of international Affairs graduate student has visa revoked (despite not having a visa—he has a green card) and is under detention by DHS after pro-Israel groups appeal personally to Trump and the new DHS head to revoke his visa & to detain him on grounds of anti-Semitic activity.

I hope Mexican President Sheinbaum is in constant contact with Trudeau: they should be standing together to defend the USMCA they signed with Trump in his first administration, shaming him instead of letting him play them against each other.

Jill and Joe Biden liked to order Rigatoni with Fennel Sausage Ragu, but for Trump it’ll always be Spaghetti Putinesca.

I know it makes me a sweet summer child, but I honestly had to check to see if this WH statement on threats against judges was real. It is.

Alina Habbard posted: NOTHING CAN STOP THIS MAN FROM FIGHTING FOR HIS COUNTRY. David Simon had a succinct 2-word response: “Bone spurs.”

Two weeks ago: White House says Elon Musk does not lead DOGE. Just now: Trump says DOGE is "led by Elon Musk" All lies.

“Sales of Tesla cars in Germany, Europe’s largest market for electric vehicles, dove 76 percent in February compared with a year earlier, the German Association of the Automotive Industry said Wednesday.”

h/t Fran Rand “Prosecutors & judges, commissioned by the omnipotent communist political police … deprived us of freedom and civil rights because we did not agree to cooperate with the authorities and did not show them gratitude. We are shocked that you treated President Zelenskyy in a similar way.”

In Germany, Fasching is underway. It's usually marked by brutal political humor, and this year, Trump is getting the worst of it. He's viewed uniformly as Putin's bitch. h/t Robert Scott Horton

INCREDIBLE PROTEST Also beautiful. The US Army Chorus sang and performed the Epilogue Finale from Les Miserables at the White House Governors Ball hosted by Donald and Melania Trump on February 22, 2025. h/t M.J. Totin at Liberal Lounge

Now we're voting with North Korea at the U.N. WashPo GIFT ARTICLE—The US voted w/Russia, N. Korea, Belarus and 14 other Moscow-friendly countries Monday on a resolution condemning Russian aggression in Ukraine & calling for the return of its occupied territory that passed overwhelmingly on Monday.

Canadians are awakening to an anti-American Buy Canadian grocery store labeling trend.

Got to say I LOVE the Trump Administration negotiating to get Rare Minerals from Ukraine, for 2 reasons: 1. It reduces our dependence on China for Lithium and Graphite (China provides near 70% of world supply) 2. More than 50% of those minerals are in Russian Annexed land.

Today’s must-read. Chamberlain had, it’s generally agreed, good intentions, and at least extracted a promise from Hitler (later proven empty) to restrict further aggression. substack.com/@thinkbigpic...

“McConnell’s retirement means that Rand Paul will become the worst person in Kentucky.“ (Borowitz’s writing is mostly derivative; this one is too on-point to pass over. I will note that he was “inspired” by a Peter Sagal monolog on Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me when Joe Lieberman actually retired.)

This is true. @bsky.app is the app of the people. We may not all agree. We may not even all like each other. But we can engage and disagree and agree with our hate That makes the platform the future of social media

For those who forgot history....

I did an event in IN a few weeks ago where I said that on 1/6/21 Mike Pence saved the country (for now) by being one of very very few who stood by his principles under maximum threat.

Trump’s calling Zelensky a dictator means that he is now an unabashed Russian propagandist. And McConnell is the only Republican bothered by it, tho even he will probably lack the courage to say it.
