to be honest it wasn't meant to be a funny or controversial take...the operatic style of singing is the one barrier to opera for me. It doesn't sound nice to my ear for male or female voices. But I love the sound of the orchestra and love storytelling...

Of course, I literally work as a composer so its a bit embarrassing...but for me it's not a case of not enough variety...or making it more modern, or cheaper. But take out the singing and I can listen all day 😀

I can only take about 2 mins of the operatic singing style, so the thought of being locked in for a few hours is not appealing.

Yes Alberto was on good form - it also just reminded me how uncompromisingly artistic the film is, in a really weird way. It's very much Alberto's vision, and I'm really impressed with how he stuck stubbornly to it, through all the headwinds, over years to make it happen!
