If you want to travel between Hamburg and Copenhagen I recommend using the train. Apart from the obvious advantage of city centre to centre travel it is also a fascinating journey. My blog sets out the main sightseeing activities enroute. davestravelworld.com/2025/02/02/h...

This photo was taken on Tibet’s high plateau. It was part of a solo travel adventure starting in Shanghai and travelling by train across China and Tibet to Lhasa and then onward by road to the Tibet / Nepal border and Kathmandu. The whole trip took about a month.

Travelling from Xi’an to Lhasa involves a 26 hour train journey on a high altitude railway line. The train climbs to an altitude of 4000m and passenger cabins are fitted with oxygen outlets. Access to Lhasa is restricted and passengers need a travel permit before being able to join the train.

The next stop on my China journey was a visit to Xi’an’s Terracotta Army. The Mausoleum of the first Qin Emperor is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 2,200 year old army, discovered in 1974 by a farmer while ploughing his fields, was created to protect the Emperor in his after life. #travelblogger

Views from the Bosporus, Istanbul, Turkey. It’s amazing how cheap an hour’s return ride through the heart of the city on a boat can be.
