Here is a nice comparison I found. On the left side there is the G85 aka. G81 aka. G80 and on the right side is the GX 85/81/80. Panasonic is very bad at naming cameras.

No. the GX line are Panasonics range-finder-style cameras while the G line are larger DSLR style camera bodies with more features.
